Quick weekend trip in to Hartford to see a friend and enjoy the city with a little light sight seeing. We only stayed two nights at the Hartford downtown Marriott, but it was a great experience. Rooms were clean, quiet and comfortable. The staff was courteous and professional. Exactly what you'd expect. We ate breakfast both mornings in the Italian Trattoria restaurant in the hotel and were treated to great service by Fernando. He was friendly, professional and took great care of us, ensuring enjoyed our meal. He did an outstanding job. Overall, great stay and would recommend.
I spend quite a bit of time in hotels around the country as I travel for work. I have to say that the location, the accommodations and the staff is incredible! Joey at the front desk went above and beyond to support our group's needs with a superb knowledge of not only the hotel but the city and the happenings around town. I look forward to our next trip to Hartford, as we will most definitely stay at the Marriott Downtown!
I was recently in Hartford for a work conference and from the moment I walked in Joey took me under his wing. From check in to check out Joey was there to answer all my questions and make suggestions for things to do in Hartford. Joey's attitude was the absolute best! Thank you for all your help and the best attitude I have encountered at a hotel in a long time! 😃
This was one of our best Marrriott experiences! Joey at the front desk went above and beyond to make it a memorable time. He should be training every Marrriott employee On how to treat guests. Also the housekeeping staff was fast and friendly.
Easy access to convention center. Room was clean. Irritating elevator...you have to use your key card. Overall decent and price was fine for the type of hotel. Stayed here because of a convention. Would stay again.
Spent 3 nights here in June. The hotel is nice, clean, and centrally l located downtown. My only complaint was that the bar closed at midnight...on a Friday night no less. Other than that, we had a great time. I would stay here again.
Loved this hotel! Joey at the front desk was super helpful with all of my questions. He was so friendly and kept me laughing! Having a smiling face greet you each day really makes all of the difference! The rooms were clean and very comfortable and I would definitely stay there again! It's connected to the convention center which was very convienent.
Recently spent three nights at the Hartford Marriott Downtown and the staff was helpful and friendly. I didn't get names but every single time I interacted with members of the valet staff I was met with a friendly smile, how is your day, can I help you with directions, etc. The room was clean and updated and the location was convenient to the interstate system as well as downtown. Loved having a full-service Starbucks onsite.
My fiance and i planned a mini comicon vacation in hartford and were seeing kasey chambers sat night...we called the reservation office, explained our plans and they said that due to our seeing the show sat that our room would only be $119...we said wed take that and asked how much a second night would be ...the said 289 for both nights ...i thought that was great and being down to 300 on our card was perfect..so we reserved a double room the first night and they said they only had a king available the following night but would roll a bed in for us...we had called the hotel directly a little later to confirm our reservation and price and to let them know we were running late...when we arrived they tried charging our card for $790 twice as it was declined and they hadnt told us they had not honered the price we were given at the reservation office...then told us nothing was done to our card...by this time is was after midnight we were exhausted and had a miserable and tired little girl who just wanted to go to sleep...exrtemely pissed...we left...and spent another hr trying to find another motel...we finally found a small cheap motel..way outside of hartford city...at check in ( for $109, mind ,we had $300 on the card)... the very kind gentleman at WEST HARTFORD INN...informed us that our card was again declined🤤...we spent another hr on the phone with the bank where we were informed a hold was put on our card due to the transaction...we were mortified....as we were on the phone with the bank...the gentleman assured us we would have a place to stay and we would figure it oit in the am...and the bank felt for our situation and released our funds so we could get a room so we could finally rest... In short the marriot downtain hartford was disorganized and cold and would figure a huge corperation as marriot would have their ducks in a row( wasnt being difficult outside of extemely dissapointed and noticed the" building" of a security guard did approach from the rear...that was warm...lol)...meanwhile...the small hotel on the outskirts of town was willing to take us in out of a kindness you dont really see in the world too often any more...and even the bank went beyond policy to help....the small motel also had a decent breakfast and coffee in the am at no charge for about $110 total ....i dont know the mans name...but id like to thank him for restoring a liitle hope in the world as he has done here...and his kindness reminded me that feeling "comfortable" and "taken care of" ...doesnt come from big fancy material things...but the heart behind them....food for thought...
My family stayed here three nights on a short family vacation to Hartford. The hotel is clean and modern. Room were reasonably price for a Marriott. The Gym is up to date but on the smaller side. There is also an indoor roof top pool / hot tub which was great to keep my 4 year old entertained. The hotel has a starbucks, gastro pub , and a full service restaurant attached, The main drawback to the place is that downtown Hartford is pretty much dead. very little within walking distance that is open during weekend. There is a little area of eateries one block away but I could these those places getting over whelmed if a convention was occurring in the convention center which is attached to the hotel. Be aware that apparently the hotel has listened to all the complaints about parking and now offers in and out privileges. You have to park in the convention center lot and basically prepay for parking at $19 per day and they will give you a card that allows you to go as you please. On a final note the hotel staff is very accommodating as they were able to put my family in connecting rooms. One warning however, if you need connecting rooms ask when making reservations and then call the hotel again to confirm the connecting the rooms. I failed to confirm and had to scramble to find connecting rooms.
