The Hartford Marriott is one of the better Marriotts that I have stayed at. It has a large valet area with plenty of staff to assist you with parking and bags. The lobby is large and clean. The front desk staff is very friendly and helpful. The lobby bar is large, nothing fancy but has good drinks. The restaurant is average. I had breakfast in the restaurant and it was about what you would expect from a hotel restaurant. Not too good not too bad. The rooms are average sized and clean. The TVs are fitted with Netflix Hulu and YouTube which makes for better entertainment. The hotel is located next-door to the convention center and also close to the Riverwalk area. It is a short 10 minute walk to the state capital and it is even closer to downtown. I would stay here again.
clean nicely decorated, upscale facility, convenient, front desk staff very nice and helpful easy access from the highways, conveniently located at the heart of downtown. Onsite coffee shop and bar -comfortable stay
I have stayed here countless times while in Hartford. Each time my experience has been great. Staff has always been accommodating in every area of the hotel. I once broke my ankle while on a day trip partaking in some snow activities and they allowed me to stay a few extra days at my weekend rate. Greatly appreciated because It was an extra 3-4 days that I was not able to travel. They even checked in with me to see how I was doing and brought me treats. The hotel has a great restaurant on-site called Vivo, which is not your standard hotel fare. They attract locals as well at this top-notch rated restaurant that has taken home several awards over the years. Most recently the 2017 Wine Spectator Top Honors Award. I have had the breakfast buffet, lunch and dinner. The menu is creative and most importantly I have enjoyed every meal. I think that is a hard thing to accomplish time over time. Kudos to the chef and the rest of the staff. L Bar , is a sophisticated spot to grab a terrific cocktail and it offers an upscale menu too. They have a happy hour with some very attractive pricing. The gym and in-door pool are well maintained. You will also find a spa with an array of services. You can't go wrong here in my book if you looking for a hotel in downtown Hartford.
The staff at the front desk were very kind, helpful and professional. The double bed room was relatively spacious, very clean and comfortable. I very much appreciated the TV with Netflix- I felt like I was home! Easy to use safe that had plenty of room. The fridge was small but after some clever arranging, it did its job. I would have liked USB ports on the nightstand. Now that I think about it, I don’t think there were any USB ports. The beds were very comfy as was the bedding. The walls are a little thin and you could hear lots of noises from other guests. The rooms were nice and dark without light from hallway filtering in under the door. Very reasonable, convenient and easy to use room service. However, the food was a bit too fancy. My daughter wanted a grilled cheese but she absolutely hated the blueberry compote and fig spread that was in it. The quinoa salad was really good and the serving size was huge. Hamburgers were very good too. Food came quickly in a nice convenient bag with everything included. The elevators were kind of annoying since you had to wave your room key to make it go to your floor. Sometimes I forgot and didn’t get my key out in time or key wouldn’t register and I had a few trips up to the 21st floor and back down to 9th. Parking was decent and relatively close & safe. I absolutely LOVED having a Starbucks in the lobby. And you can’t beat being connected to the convention center.
So I don't usually write reviews of Marriott's - I usually get more excited by Ritz Carltons, St Regises and Park Hyatts. We were here for a family Bar Mitzvah. This was the blocked hotel, happy to be Platinum with Marriott, could stay on points, no problem. So here's the deal - they hit every single note they tried for. The staff is really lovely - helpful and warm. The room, while not being a destination location, was extremely well thought out. I would have preferred a couch rather than only a chair but other than that, it was perfect. Lots of outlets for all of the electronic devices, lovely bathroom (tho not opulent but again, they were not trying for that). Plenty of drawer space (amazing how many upscale hotels expect you to live out of your suitcase!). Had drinks and a small lunch at the bar. Food excellent and the server was lovely. Went up to the top floor to check out the fitness center and the pool - truly, trulk exceptional! Bar Mitzvah party was in the banquet hall and the truly did a magnificent job. Bottom line, great place to stay if you are in the Hartford area.
Stayed here a couple weeks ago during a winter storm. Didn't have much options to eat because everything around was closed so we decided to go downstairs and have dinner at Vivo. The bar was closed but the sweet hostess winsome allowed us to sit there anyways. She went above and beyond to make sure our dining experience was excellent. Our actual server never came over not once to check on us only to drop the check. Winsome is awesome I witnessed her cleaning tables, seating people and also waiting on other tables. She is such a hard working young lady and very much like her name, charming. The manager, matt was also very kind and helpful the ice cream we go with our Togo desert wasn't very appetizing and matt delivered to our room different ice cream. Very kind of him. Our experience could've have gone completely wrong but winsome and matt did a great job making sure that it did not.
We were very pleased with our stay at the Marriott in downtown Hartford. They started by accommodating our request for a room in a quiet area of the hotel. I’m a light sleeper, and this made all the difference! We were attending an event at the convention center and it was great not to have to walk outside in the cold weather to get there. Room was comfortable and clean. Fitness center was great. It was good to have a Starbucks right in the hotel and though it could get very busy, the staff there kept things moving. Would definitely stay here again if taking a trip to Hartford.
I was here for a business conference and really enjoyed my stay throughout. The Marriott is a downtown hotel that offers reasonably priced ($18/day) convenient accessible parking in the Convention Center garage attached to the hotel. Rooms are functional and clean with new furnishings and an extremely comfortable bed. The choices for breakfast, lunch and dinner - all served buffet-style during the conference - were notably excellent. We had a hospitality hour that offered beer and wine, while servers made their rounds with hot hors d’orderves. I highly recommend staying here for business travel or a personal getaway. The Hartford Marriott is tops!
If you have to travel to Hartford, make sure you stay here. The service is impeccable (thank you Joey and Richard!) Vivo is a surprising delight and the bartender (she is also delightful..I sit in the bar instead of the restaurant because of her!!) the food is great!!
I stayed here for an overnight business trip. After a long drive to Hartford, I was looking forward to relax in the concierge lounge with some hors doeuvres and a glass of wine. Unfortunately, the hors doeuvres were very disappointing. So I Ordered room service dinner. There were very few choices. I ordered the CAESAR salad, which was ordinary, and The salmon, which was mediocre. Breakfast in the lounge the next day Was equally disappointing. I will not Stay here Again.
