This property is UNBELIEVABLY dated, has an abandoned restaurant under it and is in a very sketchy neighborhood. Seems like there is construction going on outside of it as there was a several story crane moving back and forth in the parking lot making it hard to navigate and park. People that are obviously not guests roam the parking lot, if there was a pool I would not go. The hotel is dirty, the lobby appeared damp as there were industrial fans blowing. All the walls in the room were shabbily spackled and heavily painted without care. Furniture was old, chipped, marred, paint speckled and dated. The bed was clean but the mattress was lumpy, ancient and upon box springs that creaked as though they may break from age. Staff was nice and welcoming. Really the only bright part. I didn’t not try the complimentary breakfast because of the state of the hotel I was concerned about how sanitary dining areas were.

On the positive side, we appreciate the new mattress, new and clean sheets, and towels. That was really nice. On the other hand, the location is next to a busy highway and the windows are not sound proofed at all. It was clear that there were new updates and repairs. However, it appears that it was a property with lots of damages from the past. Elevator lights not working, and odd damages makes us wonder what happend in the past and does not feel safe and assuring. We ordered a suite and recelived a room with a dirty sofa with many stains. The furnitures were miss matched as well. For over $200/night, I think this location needs to bring more value to its customers.

The staff tryed to charge me an extra 100$ he had the nerve to tell me cash I felt as if he was trying to be shady I was very uncomfortable giving him my credit card information on top of that there was no refrigerator in our room no chairs I was very disappointed with the stay at la Quinta being that I paid over 200$ for a half a night only stayed a few hours I will not be returning to this hotel..

The hotel was decent, a little out dated, but nothing major. My concern was the yellow/tan stain on the sheet. After checking in at almost midnight, driving 6hours on the road I didn't have time to check the bed thoroughly. When I woke the next morning I noticed the stain. I contacted the front desk, the male staff member that answered the phone stated that the manager was not available. After I told him the issue he said hold on the manager is right here. Seconds later I spoke with the manager She was nice and pleasant. She heard my matter and vowed to get someone to the room to change the sheets. She also said she would reimburse me something for my inconvenience. After waiting 35min I called to the front desk again and spoke to a male. He said she would have house keeping come to my room. After waiting another 10min and being in a rush to leave, the house keep finally came to the room. Because I was in a hurry to pick up my children, I asked them to leave the sheets and i changed them myself. No reimbursement was given, no further communication with manager.

I am sorry to say that the person at the front desk never even looked me in the face. Our room key didn't work and it seems this was an issue happening throughout the building. A different person working there was friendly and let us into our room. That was better. The condition of the place is dated and in real need of some care. Our bed literally creaked, you could both feel and hear the springs. I can say the water pressure was good and there was plenty of hot water. Their continental breakfast was ample with some healthy options. But we won't be back.

Stay away!
Typical low-end hotel. At check-in owner's kids running around screaming and yelling right in front of the desk. Adults sitting next to that discussing whatever it is they discussed in their language. Room air conditioner was difficult to get started. TV did not work. Door did not close fully and was left open overnight until I discovered it. Oh no makeup in the room at all until I checked out. Sparse breakfast even though I was downstairs 2 hours before the end of breakfast. Hotel staff was not very friendly when checking in. Calls to fix the TV we're not heated. Very difficult time contacting customer service a series of menus typical 800 voicemail system. First agent to talk to me transferred me but when I gave me a number to call back but when I called it I got a voicemail. I regret spending $120 per night instead of the advertised $89 per night.

I stayed here once before and had a good experience but it seems ownership is not investing in staff and upkeep as much as before. Bed sagged in the middle and the box springs creaked, freeway noise came in through the windows, keys on several occasions did not open room door or elevator, desk staff had to leave the desk empty to come open my door with a key, and the cleaning staff came in my room saying their charts said it was empty. I will say that although my room supposedly had a limited view, the view was actually terrific--over the freeway, yes, but then to the harbor and port. Breakfast was more ample than many, and had hot eggs and sausage as well as real fruit. The hotel is in an industrial area but walkable to the train station; there is a good city bus system for local transportation, or it's an easy drive to downtown or Yale.
