We stayed only one night -- slipped into our robes when we arrived and only put on western garb when we were ready to leave. Huge Japanese style room with futons (made a little comfier with a sponge underpad) and low tables. Wonderful hot springs -- pools outside and in -- used both in the evening and in the morning. Very convivial. Beautiful architecture, plantings. Excellent dinner and breakfast.

I stayed for a night in April 2017. Everything is Japanese style and and as a tourist I enjoyed it. The breakfast and dinner are completely Japanese menu and authentic dishes. Don't expect to have few selection of English dishes. Communication was not a big problem since few of the staff soak English. The outdoor hot spring is great. Don't settle for the indoor one . It's an hour away from the bullet train station. But the hotel has frequent shuttle bus service.

The Yunohana hotel is a mixed feeling, it might have been grant once but it smelled and looked dated. Our bedroom smelled like wet tatami I was worried I will get sick (allergy/asthma), do not go there if you are quite sensitive to mold or out of medications for that. I understand that weather wise, it is foggy and humid out side and hard to keep such vast rooms free of moisture but... The walls had seen better time (different swatch of colors/paint has been touch up but not well). The woods had clearly been wet and not repaired, the bathroom and restroom had hole/puncture/unstable fixture). It is quiet and beautiful outside. The food was good, some explanations will be nice for us, foreigners not reading/speaking Japanese. We did not have any comparison for the Onsen but we liked it even if again some cleaning/updating will be nice. the personal we interact with was curtuous and nice, not always speaking English but a picture and google always help.

We wanted to experience a Japanese room & onsen when we visited Hakone following our tour to Mt Fuji 5th station. When we went into the room It was a spacious basic room with only 2 small tables until our porter showed us where the futon mattresses were stored! He then asked what time we would like our dinner so they will come in to prepare our beds during that time. We were encouraged to wear the yakata/kimono throughout our stay. Had I known I'll bring fewer clothes! It was fun as everyone were walking around in the same kimono!!!! We headed to the onsen immediately & soaked ourselves in the hot outdoor milky pool. There is another clearer pool indoor & the place is very clean & provides all the toiletries you need & hair dryer. Our Japanese Dinner was a 10 course meal & we were served by a very pleasant waitress. Really yum! Japanese Breakfast was good too. There's also a karoake room. Thoroughly enjoyed our one night stay. However place is remote & far from station & town. Shuttle bus is available though.

Was allocated to this hotel from my tour group, having selected deluxe with onsen option, wishing to experience Japanese-style hotel. For the time of year, the hotel was a little quiet. Nevertheless, it was a lovely hotel, part of a golf resort. The rooms are as pictured, sparse, but adequate. And very comfortable The bathroom facilities are very good. The onsen area, away from the room, is an experience in itself. The food served was some of the best tasting Japanese food throughout my trip. Grounds are lovely for early morning walk. WiFi in hotel lobby only. At checkout one can a shuttle to their sister hotel on the lakefront, to Hakone-moto or Odawara train station. The staff at the sister hotel is very obliging to store bags and allow one take their shuttle to the train station. Have your camera ready for the shuttle journey, route is stunning.

Japanese style hotel in a secluded peaceful area and set in lovely gardens with the use of the Onsen. The rooms are big with tatami mats, tv and tea making facilities, and very little else. Futons are set out for you on the floor in the evening, which are surprisingly comfortable and conducive to a good nights sleep. Basic kimonos and slippers are provided in a selection of sizes which we all wore to dinner. The food both dinner and breakfast was elegant Japanese style. A nice experience

Stayed in Prince Hotel in April with a group. Great room, clean and well appointed, opened the window onto a small landing and the Golf Course was right there. The Staff were cheerful and more than helpful. Beautiful Buffet for Dinner and Breakfast was enjoyable, the only day on the Trip that we had rain but still managed to have a walk to the Golf Club House and nearby area, didn't want to leave. Will Stay here again...Coral.

My wife & I stayed here for 1 night to get the Rōykan experience. The hotel itself is stunning the gardens, amazing. The rooms are tradition Rōykan style, the food was superbly presented. Our only issue with the hotel, the only reason it didn't get 5 stars was because of the fact we weren't allowed to use the Onsen because we both have tattoos. We knew there was a chance of not being able to sample this part of Japanese culture through research before arriving but we felt that they could have accommodated people with body art at certain times of the day/night. However this doesn't take away the fact the hotel is amazing, but I can't comment on the Onsen because we're didn't experience it.

We stayed there for 1 night as part of our trip to Hakone. Location is very secluded. Our tour guide had to order a taxi to drop us off, so you need a vehicle otherwise if you want to go there on your own. Checkin is ok, staff speaks minimal english. Our room is very nice facing the golf course. As it was low season, nobody was golfing so was very very quiet. We had an amazing Japanese style dinner and breakfast the next morning. Our beds were made for us while we were having dinner. Very comfortable in my opinion. We tried the onsen once in the evening and were on our own (men and women were separate) as the hotel was not busy at all. The hotel has a shuttle that runs in the morning to town and to the train station, but you need to book that ahead of time. We had a great experience at the hotel!!

Indoor/outdoor onsen to die for......delicious meals, exquisitely served. Sleeping on futon was comfortable and cozy - beautiful early dawn with sun rising over the golf course......wifi in lobby only. No international TV - peaceful surroundings.
