Room was great! The staff was very friendly and helpful. Area was great- very walkable, tons of shops and museums nearby. Also within a two minute walk of the arena, which was nice as we had gone to a hockey game! Check out the President Ford Museum, the Public Museum, the ice rink at Rosa Parks Square, among many others.

Check in was fast but not enough information was shared. It was not clear at all when booking that there is a $33 charge per night for parking. When parking on second floor had to go up 4 steps with luggage. Was also not told to keep one key to get out of garage. Overall was not impressed or happy with hospitality part of the stay except the lovely lady at breakfast.

Wonderful hotel stay in a gorgeous corner suite. Very comfortable, good bed, AWESOME showers with good water pressure, nice fridge and microwave, close to Van Andel and some bars/restaurants, and very safe (next door to the GRPD). The only reason for 4 stars instead of 5 is the free continental breakfast served in the lobby (not to be confused with the on site restaurant on the ground floor named Social Misfits, which is actually kind of cool-I recommend the espresso martini). The continental breakfast was gross. Sausage and eggs were ice cold, and there was some sort of quiche which had a funky aftertaste from whatever cheese was used. We are not expecting anything fancy with a free breakfast, but don’t make us gag and with iced food to boot. Keeping in mind my little warning on the breakfast, however, I do recommend this hotel and would gladly stay here again. I especially recommend the corner suite where you have more options for sprawling out with an awesome couch that has nice back support. My thanks to the RI and Marriott. Job well done.
