Courtyard by Marriott Grand Rapids Airport

I enjoyed my stay and will be back. The room was clean, the staff was courteous, and the breakfast was great! The location is a little over 2 miles away from the airport and surrounded by plenty of stores and restaurants. The menu was a a bit over-priced, and the staff in the restaurant was often out of sight. I'd recommend that someone always be present at the counter waiting for guests. Each time I arrived at the Starbucks Bistro I had to wait for someone to come from out of the kitchen area. One time the front desk clerk had to ring up my order. He left the front to walk over to the Bistro and conduct business on that side. Nevertheless, I'd still recommend this location and I will certainly visit again.

We randomly selected this airport hotel for an overnight preceding a 6:00 AM flight out of GRR. We booked on-line. Process was simple and easy with a great rate for a King room. Check-In was hassle free. Front Desk staff were friendly, pleasant and welcoming. Our room was as described, comfortable, inviting, clean. The bed was comfortable and cozy. Bathroom was small but functional. Water pressure was great and plenty of hot water available. Wi-Fi connection was strong. We headed down to the recently updated Bistro for a glass of wine and light dinner. We were warmly welcomed by the bartender/waiter. He made recommendations and clearly knew his menu and beer/wine list. We tried the Grilled Brussels Sprouts on his recommendation...so delicious! They had a nice mid-range wine selection and local/craft beers, service was was personal and professional. The food was surprisingly tasty and the menu selection had something for everyone. It was terrific not to have to leave for dinner at a nearby chain restaurant. The hotel manager dropped by, introduced himself and inquired about our stay. He expressed his pleasure at the Bistro changes, room updates and then bought us a dessert in honor of our upcoming anniversary get-away. We have stayed at other airport hotels, even the one right next door, and we have found a new favorite in this Courtyard Marriott. You might too, so give it a try. Thanks for the hospitality!

For the basics, the hotel is clean, rooms are up to date, and in a safe area. The reason for my review is the customer service that I experienced at this hotel. My wife and I missed a 6 am flight and the next flight home wasn't until 2:20pm. We decided to get a hotel and catch a little sleep until noon. When checking in, I explained to the GM (Kyle) our situation and without even asking, he gave me a very discounted. This was a bright spot in a day that started out pretty rough. The personnel at the hotel couldn't have been nicer and seemed to genuinely care which in my opinion, is rare in this day and age.

Stayed a couple of nights on business. Staff was friendly and helpful. Room was clean and comfortable. Close to the airport. Certainly a place I would stay in again or highly recommend for anyone in the area!

We stayed at this hotel for one night recently to go to a winter graduation at Grand Valley State. There was no way we could afford to stay at the downtown Courtyard two nights in a row, but that was okay.... this hotel is a high quality place with a modern look and feel. The staff is very friendly and helpful and the rooms are nice. The beds in particular are probably more comfy than the one we sleep in at home! It didn't take more than 15 minutes to get downtown, even in the snow, so it was a perfect solution for us. Would definitely stay again!

Congratulations to a hotel that has somebody taking care of the small but meaningful details. This staff was careful and detail oriented enough to have in my mini bar the Beer that I represent and a had written note. A+! You’ve earned my personal and my company’s business!

Was in and out of GR on business. After a long day of meetings and dinners, came back to hotel to have a glass of wine and chill before flying out the next morning. Matt at the bar was great! A true professional who made you feel at home. He is the kind of bartender that makes you come back! Jim

Very friendly hotel staff. Matt, in the Bistro, is stellar. I was disappointed that the hotel no longer has USA Today delivered to the Lobby. The sink was badly broken in my room and I advised the front desk. Courtyard remains my go-to near the airport.

The hotel looks to have been recently remodeled (wallpaper, carpet, drapes). Everything was very clean. Although the console/desk/nightstands showing their age in juxtaposition to the other furnishings. This can easily be overlooked because the price is just right for this property and it's VERY convenient to the airport. I had a bad light leak coming in through the door from the hall, which a towel took care of. Luckily the bed was on the other side of a wall from the door so the light projection wasn't terrible. The walls ARE a bit thin, though, and the bed must be an innerspring Marriott bed... the foam are much more comfortable and about halfway through the night, the thin walls and harsh bed made for an inability to sleep. The hotel was available on little notice and "saved the day" from a badly delayed flight that turned into a cancellation. The only problem was, I'd booked the hotel based on there being a Bistro. It should be noted that the Bistro at this location is ONLY open nights on Monday through Thursday, and I stayed Friday-Sat. I had to leave before it would have opened in this morning, so I'm not sure if it was just evenings or if it's closed weekend mornings as well. They had hot apple cider in the lobby! Nice touch.

First off the hotel is fine as all Courtyards are. But I am writing about the chicken. Yep, chicken. Their Herb Roasted Half Chicken is amazing. The taste was to die for. It think it’s Standard fare for Courtyards so if you can try it out. By the way, the staff at the hotel are great.
