First off the hotel is fine as all Courtyards are. But I am writing about the chicken. Yep, chicken. Their Herb Roasted Half Chicken is amazing. The taste was to die for. It think it’s Standard fare for Courtyards so if you can try it out. By the way, the staff at the hotel are great.
Comfortable and clean! Be sure to get the sweet chili wings at the lobby bar and visit Matt the bartender- best customer service! Travel here at least once a month and definitely home away from home.😊
It's just another Courtyard. When you are on business travel you know exactly what you are getting, where everything is and what to expect. Sort of gets to be your home away from home (sort of like Starbucks becomes your office on the road). Where this one misses the mark however: 1. Pulled in at 9:50 PM. The Bistro which is typically open until 10 PM was already closed up and pitch black. 2. Went through two irons. First one had all of the markings worn off and leaked water when turned flat to iron my shirt. Housekeeping brought a new one. It looked new but also leaked like the first one. Some off-brand iron. Clearly they have a product issue. 3. Tried the old travel trick of turning the shower on hot and steaming the bathroom to take the wrinkles out of my suit jacket. Problem is their bathrooms bent the steam fully. Good design but kills the travel trick of using the shower to steam the wrinkles out of your clothes. Can't use the iron steaming function (it leaks). I guess it's time to start traveling with a small clothes steamer (anyone have a recommendation?).
When I walked into the hotel after a long day, as I was checking in- there was no power. No fault to the hotel, as someone hit an electrical pole with their car- and a good portion of 28th street lost power. The staff dealt with this crisis like professionals. I was given a beverage during check-in and they made sure I was able to get into my room fine and were extremely courteous. There is something to be said about the way they handled themselves in that situation. I would recommend this hotel to anyone because you can tell they care about their guests and the guest's experience. Great job to the staff at Courtyard Grand Rapids Airport- keep up the great work!
Stayed here for a long weekend, great staff, clean rooms and had all the amenities I could have wanted. Ample parking, easy access to freeway and around a lot of restaurants. Definitely will stay here again!
The hotel, staff and amenities are wonderful. We were looking for a hotel centrally located for the golfing around Grand Rapids and this fit the bill. Did not have to deal with the craziness of downtown but an Uber XL ride only cost us $25 to get us downtown. The staff was a dream to work with and you could clearly see that they have fun working with each other. I know some people say the walls are a bit thin, but the only thing I heard while staying at this hotel was the shower running next door because they have amazing water pressure.
Stayed here with friends on girls trip. It's not all THAT close to the airport, not that it was important to our trip, but it might be for readers. This hotel was starting to show its age. The carpet in our room was pulling away from the wall and coming unsewn. In another of our rooms there was padding under the carpet by the door but that was all. I personally found the bed hard on my back and slept very poorly. My roommate was unhappy with the pillows. The breakfast buffet was more extensive than others I've encountered on this trip.
Convenient, quiet, updated and clean property close to Grand Rapids airport. The walls floors and ceilings are paper thin though, so if there's anyone in rooms around you you will hear them! Disconcerting that when people are walking in room above the floors creak with every step -- yet the hotel feels new -- maybe just remodeled. The vent in our bathroom actually connected to the vent next door so when their bathroom light was on all night -- the light shined through to our bathroom!
When your traveling to the Grand Rapids area, make sure to stay at this hotel. Very friendly staff and the beds are extremely comfortable. The hotel is close to the airport or the expressway. Don't forget to experience the food Located in the lobby.
We were in town for the weekend and chose this location because the downtown options were a lot pricier. It is close to the airport, though we drove. Nice place with Starbucks in the lobby. The decor is decent, typical Courtyard. Only problem was that all the pillows were down. The front desk said there should be some non-down pillows in each room, but there were none in our room and they didn't have any to give us.
