Check-in was easy. Rooms are spacious but need sprucing up - carpet was visible dirty, furniture was badly nicked, & tub had a permanent mat stuck to it that had grung around it - so that I used a towel to line it before I took my showers & there was no lid on toilet - so when flushed it - all the germs got into the air - closing lid prevents this! Housekeeping knocked on my door at 10:30, even though I had the do not disturb sign posted, to clean my room. Check out is at 11:00 & I was preparing to leave - why did they knock at 10:30? Check out was seamless.

1. Emailed message to the hotel for a late shuttle bus arrangement. Never got a reply. Had to call the hotel to make sure about their shuttle bus policy. No late night pick up. 2. When checked in, I was asked to present my ID and credit card. I paid the hotel fee already (3 nights' stay) away before through Orbitz. However, the front desk authorized another different amount on my credit card. I asked the front desk to take off it and was told they will take care of it. Too bad was that they did not keep their words. They did NOT take off the pending amount from my credit card which actually caused me a problem because I had to use my credit but couldn't use it due to the pending amount that had been taken by the Wyndham Garden hotel, though they apologized to me. BUT they did not fix it on time at all.

Front desk woman and shuttle driver terrific. The room excellent. The rest...eh. The restaurant is essentially nonexistant at night, though advertised as open. No one there. Same with the bar, except for a brief appearance from a wise cracking bartender who quickly disappeared never to be seen again. Had to walk in the dark to the only restaurant that could be reached without crossing a busy hightway/street. Not cool for a woman alone. Set way back from the highway with poor signage. Difficult to find if not on a shuttle. Would not recommend.

It was just s place to sleep. No breakfast Thank all

It took 45 minutes to get checked in. The lady helping us still couldn't figure out how to take proper payment so told me to meet with the manager the next day (who never came to work). When we got to our room it smelled of stale smoke. We got a new room that was sub par and mediocre in cleanliness. When I went back the next day to speak to the manager the employee loudly stated "this place is a sh$$hole never stay here again, the manager doesn't know what she is doing and doesn't care about customers you will never see her." I was appalled.

The hotel is back from the busy street with a small sign but once I found it I was happy to see lots of grass and space. Hotel is located in a very busy road with easy access to tons of shopping, restaurants and things to do. Check in was fast and I was in my room in less than 5 minutes. It was very clean, no musty smell and very enjoyable. Will for sure stay here again.

The pool is ok - nothing fancy, just a big rectangular pool and hot tub. The room, it was fine. Peeling wallpaper, chipped grout in the tile and dirty tub were kinda disappointing. The carpet in the main halls were stained and BOY was it LOUD! It sounded like elephants stomping around above us. We could hear every person coming up the stairwell, walking down the hall and up above us. We called the front desk asking for 2 extra pillows and they said they'd send them up and they never did. Our stay wasn't horrible, but I wouldn't say I was impressed.

-Lukewarm hot water, leftover trash under beds, clogged sink, no extra bedding - even after the front desk told us 3 different times someone would bring it. We do not plan to stay at a Wyndham Gardens again.

This hotel is perfect for an early flight overnight.

Convenient location in Grand Rapids. Difficult to see, behind shopping center. Needed to have housekeeping come in and re- clean the bathroom. Staff was friendly.

A large group of teens numbering 7-10 came into the room next to my eldery parents and partied noisily late into the night, including smoking pot. Several calls to the front desk were without effect. I spoke to the clerk face to face both that evening and in the morning to no avail. Several calls to speak to a general manager have not yet been returned three days later. Add to this the fact that the shower did not drain properly and we had a very unpleasant experience.

Was here for 4 nights, would stay here again. Got a great deal on Orbitz. Good location though you need a car to go anywhere. Lots of restaurant options within 5min. Lobby bar was fun place to hang out, especially with the generous pouring bartender!

Everything was super nice here. Only two slightly negative comments: no continental free breakfast, and the door to my room (242) stuck, was hard to close. Very friendly and helpful staff, clean, good location.

Stayed there for business trip. Everything you need and s decent price

I recommend the hotel, great beds and desk area. Very nice staff.

The 1st night we were there, we decided to stay 1 extra night esp after Ashley mentioned that they would match price. On our 3rd day while we were out, Janelle calls me at 1:30 insisting we return to our hotel because we were suppose to be checked out today.  After I asked for a mgr., she gets back on the phone and suddenly she found my 3rd night reservation. Shouldn't she have checked that first? However, Janelle still insisted we go back to the hotel because we are to be checked out and checked back in and room key has to be re-programmed. We got to the hotel.  She swipes my card.  I asked her for how much.  She quote me a diff rate. I informed her that Ashley said they match the price. I, then, had to ask for Rebekah (mgr) again. Rebekah agreed that price should be match. Last day, check out day. Before we left the hotel,  I was charged the higher rate. I went to the front desk and spoke to PJ. I explained that they are matching prices from 1st 2 nights. She said "no, no, unless you reserve it that same time." OMG, Here I go again.  Rebekah was in a meeting all day. PJ said she'll talk to Rebekah etc. 2 days later, yes, it did get fixed finally.  No one called me back, not even the mgr. It's so sad that I had to go through this with every front desk employee.

Stayed two nights. Had very friendly staff the room was very clean. Great area to stay. Close to shopping. The only thing I didn't like was the floors never appeared to be vacuumed through out the halls.

There was hair all over the bathroom floor. The room's heat was turned off when we arrived so it was only 50 in the room it took a few hours to get warm. We went out for the afternoon and came back to our room left open. House keeping had come in after they were told earlier in the day we did not need anything. They did shut the door after leaving and our room was opened for anyone to come in and go thru our stuff. I called down to front desk and they said they would talk to someone. They charge 1.50 for local calls. When we tries to get ahold of room service nobody answered. The in room fridge had dirt inside it and the first floor always had trash on it. There was no parking we ended up having to park out on a curb. We will never be staying here again or recommending it to anyone.

This remodel of a dated old motel was fine but it's history was one of elegance for this area. I stayed at this location 30 years ago. It had a aviary in the lobby and the best breakfast buffet in town. I recall that the Steelcase Inc would 'motel ' all of their valued customers there because of the fine amenities. It's still a good motel but not a semblance of the past.

My stay was ok overall. The first room given to us had a dirty shower mat that looked like it hadn't been cleaned in over a month. We were quickly given a new room. That room was clean except for a small stain on the comforter. Besides the noisy upstairs neighbor, the rest of the stay was good. The floor was a little squeaky so you can easily hear every step they took. They didn't seem to sleep much. It woke me and my wife throughout the night because they never went to sleep.
