Novum Hotel Imperial Frankfurt Messe

My girlfriend and I stayed at the Novum Imperial over three nights in July while travelling the country on a budget. We were after a well-priced, city centre hotel. The hotel was clean, simple, had friendly and helpful English-speaking staff who gave us a quick overview of the city when we checked in. The hotel also held our bags free of charge a couple of hours before check-in and did the same when we left but didn't leave the city until later on. The hotel isn't about a half and hour walk from the station - just about close enough with four heavy rucksacks to walk. However, there is a U-Bahn stop five minutes walk away, making getting around easy. We hadn't included breakfast in our package and at €14 a day, we thought this was expensive. As an alternative, there is a lovely cafe called Extra Blatt which does fantastic breakfast down by the U-Bahn stop.

The hotel was very conveniently situated. Very helpful Reception staff. Very clean and good facilities. Free WIFI and tea/coffee making. Quiet. Coffee not replaced on first morning, but quickly remedied.

My family including my one year old stayed here for a night during our trip to Germany. The air conditioner for the entire hotel were not working and this seems to be a perennial issue here. Nonetheless, we were not informed about this prior to checkin and were allocated a room on the top floor which was akin to a sauna. Upon complaining to the front desk, I was nonchalantly given a small table fan. They refused to refund my money when I wanted to cancel my reservation and move to another hotel even though they agreed that they should inform guests about the air conditioner malfunctioning. Best to give this a miss as there are better hotels nearby

Our stay at the hotel was pleasant and uneventful. Housekeeping was great. Good, high pressure hot water in the shower. The front desk clerk seemed to be in a perpetual bad mood. Tolerably close to the U-bahn (Bockheimer Werte Station), street parking would be available with a little difficulty.

Although not located near the city centre, it is a 5-minute walk from the metro station. Residential area with shops and supermarkets nearby. The staff is friendly and helpful. The rooms are not small, big enough for two guests. My only suggestion of things to be improved is the breakfast.

We stayed in this hotel for two nights, quite pleasant experience. Early check-in was available at the cost of €15, which is nice. We arrived early at 6 a.m. and the staff was able to let us check-in early without early notice. The location of the hotel is quite nice. It cost around €34 to get straight from the airport to here. It's also close to u-bahn station "Leipziger Str.", just a five minutes walk away. From the station you can get u6/7, you can transfer at Konstablerwache for u4/5 if you wanna go to the centre train station (Hauptbahnhof) or Dom/Römer; Around the station you'd find a bunch of shops where you find most things you'd need. We saw a lot of reviews of hotels around central station being "not safe" of "noisy" and that's why we chose to live in this hotel even though it's not exactly at the city centre. And we were pleased with our experience here. The only thing that bothered us was that the wifi wasn't working at all. :/

We checked in 4 days ago. In spite of the early check in confirmation, room was NOT ready and we had to wait (after flight through the night) for another 2 hours. When the room was available, there was no light in the foyer, the safe was not working... no technician was available (only 1 lady at the reception in the whole hotel?!?). 2 hours later we had to move the room. New room had no table, so I had to get the table from the other room myself. Cleaning is below any standard I have ever seen. No new cups, no new glasses, no sugar or coffee replacement, unless tracing housekeeping and getting it our self. Just now housekeeping was here, 3 minutes room cleaning (no vacuum, no bathroom cleaning.... just replacing towels and making bed (terrible). Worst I have ever seen, sorry. No dry cleaning/laundry service! NO fridge!!! Bathroom is so small that you can only have one person in and/or if using the toilet, get up carefully so you don't get squeezed in between the washing bowl and the toilet. All in all, not worth the money. Parking is available, but too few, so watch out that you don't get blocked and can't get out (happened to me yesterday morning)

We stayed in this hotel and we thought because of the price being so low the serve was also low but to our surprise the hotel was excellent. We had a very nice, clean room with many amenities. The wifi was perfect no password needed. We have coffee for free in the lobby without paying for it. During the day we had free water. I really enjoyed staying in this hotel for the price. Service and customer service was kept very professional. Will definitely recommend this hotel to my peers.

The hotel location is 4 Tram station away from the messe congress center and is close to U bhan station. I have stayed there for 4 nights. the two elevators of the hotel was out of order during this time and I had to climb 3 floors... the room was kept clean by the room service but the bathrooms sensor operated tap was giving me a "hard time" All in All it was not fulfilling my expectations as "home away from home" :-(

Dutch review below. The location of the hotel is wonderful. It is quiet and near good restaurants and the subway. So far the good. Now for the bad: At checkout the cleaning staff had written down that we had taken a bottle of water. This was not true. The water was very expensive and the tap water is perfectly drinkable so we have no need to take the bottle. We told them it was a mistake and then the cleaning staff was called. The cleaning lady told the reception that she had taken an empty bottle from our room. The only person that could have emptied a water bottle in our room was the cleaning lady herself. There was no empty bottle! The hotel said that we had to pay for the bottle, at which point we got angry and said we would just leave. We waited five more minutes so the reception could make another call before we could finally leave. Not paying anything for water we did not use offcourse! More bad stuff: The air in the room is very dry and full of dust. It made us cough and snore all night. The beds are very hard. There is no place to put shampoo while in the shower. The beds are not made up. I have my own pillow. The bad cleaning staff just throws their (less clean) pillow on top of mine instead of placing it somewhere else on the bed. Please look for another hotel in the same area (subway leipzigerstrasse and bockenheimer wache is the area).
