The location is good as it is very close to the train station but very close to the casinos and sex places. Not good for families with kids. The room is ok clean but not well lighted. Pillows needs to be replaced soon. Breakfast is nice and staffs are ok and helpful in the directions. Very bad internet on my second night, i had to stay in the hallway downstairs because there was no intenet in the room.
First the place didn't have the booking I made online. Then I was calling the website etc. to figure this out. It turned out to be a problem with the I booking systems and their providers, I was not the only one. In the end I got the room for one instead of two nights. Looking at the cleanliness of the place I am happy I did. One of the pillows was dirty with I don't want to know what, a towel actually had footsteps on it... Not to mention the place was generally pretty run down, the general cleanliness was below average abd the location is in the red light district. THIS PLACE IS A DESASTER. STAY AWAY.
This hotel barely qualifies for one star. The rooms at this establishment are not well kept. There were stains on the walls in my room, (dirt? blood?) the springs in the mattress were broken, there were bugs on the floor, and the fabric lining for the funiture was torn and had stains. Outside the hotel, is one of the busiest areas of Frankfurts red light district. I had no idea a red light district existed in Frankfurt prior to my check in. The entrance for City Hotel West is literally situated between a brothel and a strip club. After 6pm, you cannot walk outside the hotel without being approached by a brothel promoter, a prostitute, and / or drug dealers. I'm not exaggerating that at all. They will physically try to get you inside their building. The room I was given was only one floor up, right above the outside sidewalk. So, of course, it was very loud from all the people partying. Every time a person walked in or out of the front door, the walls in my room would shake. I asked the person working at the front desk if I could transfer to a room located in the back of the building, and was told no since I had already gone into my room. I had only been at the hotel for a couple hours, so at that point I decided to end my stay and go to a different place. I had reserved 2 nights, and kindly asked that I not be charged for the 2nd night. I was literally told "it was my problem" and no refund or credit would be issued. Booking a room at City Hotel West was obviously a huge mistake, and will forever leave a bad taste with my experience staying in Frankfurt. Neither the rooms, the hotel, nor the block are suitable for anyone other than those looking to pay for sex or buy drugs. So if that's what your main interest is for visiting Fankfurt, then I suppose this place is for you
Its a hotel near frankfurt main hbf so convenient to go anywhere you want to go even the airport is 10 min away. There are too many restaurants nearby .And if you are muslim its good to hear that too many halal food you can enjoy and grocery stores are available here actually its main in city .About hotel its clean. Washrooms are also clean. Rooms and washrooms are spacious.Only thing which i didnt like is its noisy .It is in red light area.only two rows are very bad.otherwise all things are fine.
I stayed here for two nights with two friends in a three bed room, it is a budget hotel, I could not fault the the room, it was perfect for us, clean secure basic room with fresh linen and a good shower. Location is very central. it is true there is a girly bar next door but that did not bother us, it is city center after all. The staff were very courteous at all times especially Mr Rassoul. All in all we had a good stay here
As mentioned in other posts, this hotel is right in the centre of the Red Light District. The bars have people outside who physically try to pull you into their bars. This particular hotel has two clubs directly either side and the rooms actually sit ontop of the clubs. If you are good for a good night sleep DO NOT star hear. The music lasts until 4am during the week and 7am Fri/Sat/Sun. The room itself is acceptable, in my experience not dirty, had a nice TV and a good wardrobe. The hotel staff are distant at best and seem to bang doors and trolleys around from 8am as if the building is empty. Certainly will keep clear of this hotel in the future and would advise you to do the same!
If you read any legitimate review of this hotel, it will be clear that you don't want to stay here. Please note the pictures posted by people show no happy faces, and those posted by management show no "true" qualities. They cannot show the front entrance because of the sex clubs next door. Moreover, my personal experience was at checkin, when I was told that my room was unavailable due to water damage (it was prepaid through aavacations.com). I was told to "come back tomorrow" or "call the manager" who was not available. Only one staff person at the desk. I was handed a standard hotel business card with no name. Of course, the "manager" was not available the following day either.
I paid $143.00 for 1 night at this hotel. It was just a room with dirty walls, no shampoo, lotion etc. and no air conditioning. It was in the red light district, had a view of a wall and a dirty rooftop and breakfast was not included. It was rated 3 stars but is barely a 1 star.
My husband and I took our teenagers on a tour of Europe in 2007 and this was our first stop. None of the reviews I read at the time, nor the photos on their website, indicate that it is in the RED LIGHT DISTRICT so I'm re-itterating it again. Our cab driver from the airport seemed surprised when I gave him the address - he motioned to my daughter and said "Red Light District." So, I was not happy when we arrived. I said sarcastically to the young man at the desk that their website should mention it was not for families. He gave us the key and said to go look at the rooms - he guaranteed they were immaculate. If we did not like them we could have our money back. And he was right - the rooms were spotless. We asked the kids what they thought and if the neighbourhood made them uncomfortable - they said as long as they stayed close to is they were fine and we decided to look at this as an adventure. I was okay with that until half an hour later we left to walk around and find a restaurant. The first crosswalk, where we waited (it felt like forever) had a giant display window for a sex toy store. It was all out in the open and some of it was pretty gross. Luckily the kids thought the best part was my shocked face! The Lido directly across from the Hotel is a strip club with private rooms upstairs. The constant stream of taxis full of young men shouting and partying was broken up once and awhile by the excitement of the doorman chucking some guy to the curb. The bar right next to the hotel's front entrance blasts dance music until 4:00am. You could actually feel the base reverb the floor under our feet. Our kids' room faced the back of the hotel and they said they could barely hear it. All this being said, I must mention that of the 5 countries we visited, this was consistently the best breakfast we had by far. I would not even call it continental! Of course it's Germany so the selection of breads, cheeses, sausages and cold meats was like a deli. There was also boiled eggs, pastries, lovely granola and excellent jams and fruit. So, my rec is get a room at the back of the hotel and enjoy a great breakfast and you should be okay.
Good hotel for the price and for what they offered, very good located close of the main train station (5 min). Clean and peaceful to rest after a long trip. The breakfast is included and very nice attendance.
