Super 8 Wells2.0 out of 5.0

Older property, on the old US-40 route into town, not the modern highway interchange. Worn but clean and comfortable. Breakfast is pretty minimal but got me on the road.
Folks need to keep in mind there are no Hilton/Sheraton/Double Tree type properties in Wells,Nevada. For the price and compared to others in Wells we have stayed in, the better things about this property included large rooms with fridge that kept things super cold, microwave, extra large closet area, large lot for truck/RV parking, area for dogs to use, and super quiet compared to others. Good location a block from freeway exit/multiple gas stations/truck stops/Iron Skillet/Dunkin Donuts/Burger King/and Bellas full service sit down restaurant that also has a drive through for phone in orders. A local Food truck is at edge of property with good Mexican food. The next exit going West adjacent to the Chinatown motel and RV park has a new family run Mexican restaurant Betasos that had super good food, fast service, and take out. Staff at motel are friendly and helpful. So they have tried to dress up the rooms a bit with beautiful large pictures, however like every one of the motels in Wells they are old,run down, etc. with some issues we figured out. The lights not working by bedside just needed to have the bulb screwed in tighter/to use TV remote you have to stand close to TV to change channels/volume etc. not from your bed/and the shower handles were backwards/turning the knob to right first brought good water pressure and hot water/then adjust back to left for your comfort level and water pressure stayed good. They put folks with dogs in back corridor by parking lot and area to walk dogs so yes there were some stains on the carpet but it was clean and bedding clean, bed was comfortable but not the pillows. As to the breakfast area it is located in the lobby where you check in so very small eating area. We did not eat the breakfast but saw it had cereal, apples, yogurt,Eggos with toaster and syrup/yes Eggos but you don't have to wait a long time for the waffle maker like other places and tastes the same, juice and coffee. You can purchase bottled water. No problem on the breakfast for us as the Dunkin Donuts,Iron Skillet,Bellas,Betasos ,Burger King, were just up street and truck stops nearby had all we wanted for a quick grab and go breakfast snack and fill thermos and coffee mugs. For most folks traveling along I 80 or Highway 73 just wanting a place to sleep the plus is how quiet the property is. Our dog loved the room.
The room was run down and not very clean. My wife developed a rash from the sheets. I couldn't sleep because the bed was not comfortable.
Room was acceptable, though not outstanding. Breakfast was the usual junk, we had just a few apples. For the price, it was okay.
Had to be one of the worst hotels I've ever stayed at. Lumpy bed sheets didn't fit, room not clean, skimpy breakfast. The shower never got above like warm and the TV didn't work. The parking was easy for my truck and trailer.
My families stay at Wells, Nevada super 8 was pleasant and restful. The area is dry typical desert with almost no green. Our room was clean and quiet. The staff was very knowledgeable and helpful. On checking in our bed side lights were not working, but the problem was already fixed by the time we returned from a nice dinner at a local dinner our host suggested. I'm sure we will be stopping here again.
Was not happy with my stay. Room was dirty, no help at front counter with places to eat, and breakfast was cereal and apples.
The room was clean and comfortable although very basic. The continental breakfast was good. The host was extremely nice as I had car trouble and he was very supportive in helping me sort that out.
Old motel, nothing fancy at all. Despite being very dated and in need of a lot of "face-lifting", my one night there (on the way to Idaho) was quiet, the bed was reasonably comfortable, internet worked well, and the room included a working microwave and refrigerator that I used. If you're just "traveling through" and need to crash at a place that is inexpensive, this could "work".
We were riding and decided this would be our stopping point in Wells late evening (Friday-Saturday). My BF had arrange for this room in advance therefore cannot tell you what the cost was and had prepared it as a romantic stay which totally caught me totally by surprise. He decided that the Super 8 looked decent enough for one night and appeared better than the other options. the motel appeared to be old however well maintained out room 2 (queen standard) bed was comfortable enough and the room was larger than I expected and very clean. The next morning when we checked out they had a small breakfast buffet. However my BF opted for the coffee in bed delivery to our room was good and it was a nice way to start the day. I was surprised this was provided for at this caliber of a motel. if you are passing through Wells and need a decent, clean place to stay, then I would highly recommend this Super 8.
