Filthy, even took pictures of the filth, dirty toilet, broken lamp with pieces on chair and floor, dust on bedside tables, pool closed and dirty, door of room with paint misting. All this for only $66/night. Don't stop.

Not sure what is going on with the Motel 6's in northern Nevada but there was no A/C in Winnemeca & now at the Elko Motel 6 there is no heat. I book Motel 6 online as that is usually the best price. I booked this location, Elko, and received a confirmation which I kept on my phone (fortunately). When I arrive to check-in here the reception said it was something like $50. I showed them the recept on my phone which was $32.57. The receptionist said that was for the 7 day rate but I showed here on the confirmation that it was for 1 night only. I then told her I wanted to call Motel 6 corporate customer service because of the discrepancy but she then said she would honor the online rate. So be careful; not sure if it is just at this location as I stay at a lot of Motel 6's & never had an issue with price when booking online. Last night it was very cold in Elko due to a cold front & there was no heat. Fortunately I carry an electric hot plate so used that for heat. The room was clean with a small outdated TV. Certainly not worth $50+ as this place has not had renovacations as other Motel 6's.

The Motel 6 Elko Nevada has the rudest receptionist, asked us both ids when normally asked only one id,dirtiest rooms, the door lock did not work, cable tv did not work, could not sleep because of noise next door, the smallest soaps I ever seen in my life.I will never come back.

After reading the negatives reviews we were a bit hesitant to stay here. With no expectations we stayed 2 nights in July on way to Wyoming and 1 night in August on way home. On both stays the rooms were spotless and all the staff went out of their way to be friendly, kind and helpful. We would definitely book again and the price is unbeatable!

The weather was cold ....in the 30's. After a few hours in my room, I realized the heat did not work! I had to let the shower run set on Hot to warm the room temporarily! Very uncomfortable! Irritating when checking out, I was told the boiler was not working and I was not notified when checking in!

I've stayed in a lot of different Motel 6 locations and while a few of them weren't the cleanest, this one was flat out disgusting! It smelled like dog and there was black dog hair all over the comforter, which transferred to the sheets as well. The bedding smelled horrible, bad enough that I couldnt sleep. Also the carpet was stained and grungy.Badly needs a remodel with a few rooms set aside as pet-free.

A budget motel is not a 5 star resort, and so expectations need to be realistic. Our room was clean, quiet, and the beds were comfortable. We were also in a good location since we traveled with our dog and so we wanted to be near a green area (which was actually all around). We also liked the location of the hotel in relationship to the freeway, easy on and off. Overall we felt this was one of the best motels we stayed in, as it was newer and cleaner than many of the others. And shortly after we checked in the front desk also called to confirm everything was as expected, which was appreciated. Clerk also informed us that we can have free WiFi since we are seniors. Another big plus!

Tom Bodett would be disappointed with this Motel 6. After packing some long hours on the road as I headed on my next adventure, Reno, NV, even the savviest traveler has to rest. When I checked into my room, I couldn’t believe that they had the nerve to rent out this place. Here’s what I found: Badly stained carpet. It looked as if the giant from Jack and Beanstalk had walked around the room. No matter how old your building may be, you still need to keep it up and have some kind of pride about the place. Cold air poured into the room when I pumped up the heat. (The temperature had dropped that night) This is why I travel with my own set of blankets and at times a sleeping bag. You never know. Hair in the bed. Bed spread with burn holes in it. I didn’t dare use the shower because it looked a little shady. I know you're asking, “Why didn’t you leave?” Because it was very late and miles away before I would find another town. The better hotels were full in the area. During check-out I told the manager about the carpet. He said they finally got the approval to put hardwood flooring in all the rooms. He also said that the night clerk should have told the guests that the cooling system could not be changed and that space heaters were available. Nope-I didn’t get that message. Overall: Don’t leave the light on with this Motel 6.

My husband is in Elko Navada on a job. The company put him in This Motel 6 for a few day. When he opened the door the smell of the room made him sick. The microwave did not work and the shower was way to small. Wait that's nothing. My husband has Clorox wipes we carries in his truck. he took some wipe so he can wipe off the remote to the tv and the wipe was black due to a dirty remote. Needless to say, my husband call the company that he works for and told them the situation and they moved him right out of there. F.Y.I "Sometimes Cheeper is not always Better".

I had a nasty rude "big boss " type cause grief at check-in when i asked the friendly clerk for a quiet room. He made sure to interrupt and put me by vending machines housekeeping laundry - blaming it on the computer. Some people and businesses like this actively work to deny a good experience. We went elsewhere and quickly learned of the horrible reputation this place has locally. It's old and dirty and cheap for bad reasons. There are thousands of rooms in Elko, you can do much better with a tiny bit more, just down the road.
