Since my last visit and review in Nov 2016 we came back to see how things are. Great improvement in the service and range of food available. This time we ate in the Jameson and it was fantastic! Great menu to choose from and the standard of food was top notch. In our group we tried chicken wings, burgers, mussels, flatbreads and we all loved it. Good to see a tapas idea in the sea view and also delighted that you took my last comments on board and have abandoned the seafood only menu in the main restaurant. Service issues also a thing of the past thankfully as we had great friendly happy service. Now, unlike before, we are really looking forward to our next visit! Well done!

good rooms and very friendly service - a general manager (David McGuiness ) who knows how to manage; turning an average trip into a very good one. a links course that was beautifully kept and very, very challenging!! the service from strt to finish was very friendly and professional; this is just the sort of hotel to go for a short break and expect to be well looked after. there was a wedding on the day of our departure and it was pouring with rain. Staff were sent out with umbrellas to wait for the guests to arrive and bring them into the hotel, with their Sunday best still looking immaculate. Superb. look forward to our next golfing trip in Portmarnock.

This is such a lovely hotel near to dublin airport. Staff are helpful and professional. Rooms are comfortable, clean and modern. Breakfast is varied fresh and tasty. I'm not a golfer but several of my colleagues regularly play this links and they love it.

We stayed here for our last night. It's near Dublin airport but in a pretty seaside village. I had a spectacular view of the sea, the golf course and the planes coming and going. The staff were helpful and attentive. We dined in the main restaurant and the food was superb. I had a room service breakfast to take advantage of my view. My companions were provided with breakfast boxes as they had an early start. Highly recommended.

Reception staff friendly and welcoming. Lovely clean room with stunning views of Howth and the coast ....not so stunning on our second day due to sea fret. I was delighted at breakfast when I discovered that Clonakilty black Pudding was available. Excellent breakfast very filling that I did not eat again until tea time. Only one small comlaint our room was on the ground floor next to the Seaview lounge. Each time the corridor was opened the downdrught caused a service door opposite our room to keep banging. We are visiting Dublin again later in the year and have already booked up again. Hope they still do Clonakilty black pudding!

Our first night in Ireland was at Portmarnock Hotel. 30 minutes from airport Very clean and well kept room. Garden view was excellent choice. Great for walks on the beach, views of the golf course. We stopped at Malahide Castle on the way and walked the Velvet Strand to THE SOUTHERN CROSS MONUMENT, round tower and high rock for fantastic views

My wife and I were on a bus trip circling Ireland from coast to coast to coast and this was our first stop. Our room was clean and comfortable, restaurant offerings tasty and service friendly. It's a 15 minute walk into the small town center or if you like, behind the hotel is a nice firm packed sand beach you can walk on. We really enjoyed this hotel and would highly recommend

I recently stayed here to support a charity fundraising golf event. The hotel is very nice and clean, staff are very friendly, bedroom quite spacious, and location beside the beach is terrific. The breakfast choice was very good but I just had muesli, coffee, 2 slices of toast and a hash brown. The coffee was poor and the breakfast bill €28...mad! Still and all I would recommend the hotel.

I returned to this hotel after a number of years. I previously was here for a meeting ten years ago and finally made it back this time with my family The hotel and golf course has undergone a significant remodel and redesign I enjoyed it before but is now absolutely great!! This is not a big hotel but all of the rooms are superb. It was quiet and elegant We had a garden view another family member had a ocean-golf view. The are three eating spots in the hotel they were all superb The golf course a Bernhard Langer redesign, is better than before. This is a challenging golf course. If you are not familiar with the course play it from the green tees first, to get the lay of the land! The town of Malahyde is close by Its well worth a visit. Take time to visit the castle and its ground . The sea views are great. The service at the hotel was outstanding We shall return!!

We had lunch in the bar and could not believe the service and efficency of the staff. They were doing everything from serving lunch making drinks ordering taxis collecting golf bags putting candles on cakes. All with a smile!
