Convenient location with friendly, hard working staff. The common areas are modern and well appointed: lobby, restaurant, fitness center, pool, banquet rooms. The beds were comfortable and the housekeeping staff was great However the rooms are dark and the lighting is poor. The bathrooms are very dated: old tub, visible wear on wall paper, baseboards, flooring. etc. Definitely needs some work. Breakfast buffet is mediocre.

Omce again Marriott Detroit Novi reamined my top hotel. The customer service, room size, and breakfast were on point. I have been in the airline businesses for 36 years flying around the world and this hotel is my favorite.

I have worked for Marriott for a long time; the associate who checked us in did not go out of there way to help as Marriott’s core value. I had reservations for 3 rooms, where I was expecting to check in around 10am with an early $50.00 fee. When checking in due to flight delays at 12:30 ~ 1pm we were charged an early check-in fee on 4th of July (occupancy was probably less than half) for 3 rooms. I politely asked the associate if I can check in early for 1 room with the fee and finish the process for the other 2 rooms so I do not have to drive back, associate expressed that’s not possible. Where managing a Marriott property it was possible as I was there present and the rooms were ready to go. There was another associate male who was present overhead the whole situation did not step in to help as he was shopping on the company computer, the front counter had juice residue which could have been cleaned. I was very disappointed when asked for a managers card, I was told they are locked away and was given card for Kristen Keene who’s a director of sales. Maybe the place is managed by director of sales, reason why it’s lacking in customer service. I do not want anything free nor was paying $150.00 extra to save an hour is hurting me. The attitude of the associate and seeing the standard dropping did, as Mariott once was one of the good hotel who took care of there associates and in return associate took care of the guest. They will not be getting my business or future stays.
