The Stanley

"Stanley's a lovely hotel that is positioned slightly away from Athens nightlife. Its easy to catch the Metro from the station near the Stanley to other parts of Athens. We did notice at the bottom of the building there were people who were begging for money and It's probably not the safest area to walk around late at night. So getting a taxi or catching the Metro is a great option for travel. We'd initially booked a standard room and found that it was small and slightly claustrophobic. Our standard room had a view of the air-conditioning units with no view. We upgraded to an executive room which was much better. The executive room was much larger and provided better facilities. The executive room also allowed access to an executive area where you can relax in the afternoon and have a free beer, wine and chips. The executive room also included breakfast on the 9th floor which had a great selection of fabolous food and a view of the Parthenon. Overall it is a nice hotel, but if you can upgrade to a superior or executive room do so. The cost to upgrade is worth the money. The Stanley is a little away from the nightlife and if you like walking around looking at shops at night you may want to consider something closer to Omonoia square."
