The Stanley is a great hotel to stay at while visiting Athens. Here are some detailed notes about the property. Room: -Stayed in a room with twin beds -Bed was large and allowed us to both sleep comfortably (long enough for tall guests– I am 6-foot-2) -Bedding and pillows were very comfortable -In-room air conditioning was powerful and allowed us to sleep at a comfortable temperature–perfect for people who prefer to sleep cold -Balcony was large and featured solid views of downtown Athens, the valley/surrounding mountains -Curtains blocked most of the light, but if you are sensitive to light, bring an eye mask -Other room features: mini-fridge, safe for valuables, coffee maker Hotel/Amenities: -Amazing rooftop pool with stunning views of the Acropolis, downtown Athens, and sea/mountains on a clear day -Comfortable lounge chairs/beds at the pool -Huge restaurant/bar with amazing views -Elevators were a bit small and slow, so patience is sometimes required (also have stairs to all rooms if you prefer to walk) -Friendly hotel staff and cleaning crews -Relatively quiet rooms–did not hear neighbors, but the hallway can get a bit loud after 10 AM Location: -Hotel is located right next to the Metaxourgeio metro stop, which makes travel to major sites quick, easy, and affordable -Felt safe walking around streets at night, even though many surrounding buildings/streets appear rundown -Great bakery/coffee shop steps away from the hotel

Breakfast was 12 euros per guest, as it is not complimentary, and the food was terrible. If we had of known, we would have opted for something else. Also, the shower was very undesirable, it was clean and tiled, however they installed a big fancy shower head that was completely useless in every mode. Every setting was aiming straight into the door (which was very close and would not stay shut) and left no room to actually be in the water. Other than that, it is a nice building surrounded by lots of run down/ falling apart buildings and homeless within a block in every direction. Also the pool is great!

Room was fine other than no bathroom outlets other than for razor. Breakfast was in different areas from our friends and wouldn’t allow us to eat together. Slow service at bar and pool. Always a line at coffee machines and could use drip coffee to reduce wait.

The hotel room was very disappointing. There is no furniture on the balcony. The hairdryer was inoperable. The front desk staff The rooftop pool and restaurant are very good. The service on the rooftop was excellent. The sunsets in the rooftop are spectacular. The hotel should upgrade the rooms to match the experience of the rooftop.

Hotel and staff were wonderful the rooftop pool and restaurant was fantastic and don’t miss the wonderful breakfast there are good restaurants in walking distance though the area is what you would expect in a city center I did not venture out at night. Front desk was so helpful after we learned of a cab strike happening the day we were leaving, hotel staff secured us reliable transportation to the airport I highly recommend this hotel for comfort rooftop pool and restaurant

staff was friendly and attentive at both the bar, pool and restaurant area. Food and drinks good (although they didn't remove a drink that they said they would remove). Their rooms were just average and a bit small-we were there on our honeymoon, so we we hoping for a nicer upgrade of some sort or something, but that didn't happen. One thing I didn't like at all was the showers. They were awkwardly placed and difficult to use and the hot water took a while to warm up. I also didn't love how no toilet paper was to be placed in the toilet. Other than that, this wasn't a bad place at all. Staff was super attentive, friendly and rather quick too. By the way, the hue of the pool is darker than in the pictures, so if you are a lap swimmer like me, it's more difficult to see other swimmers/divers under the water. I had a little collision with someone, which was due to low visibility under water. Also, we were under the impression that there would be a free breakfast included, however that didn't happen idk why. I heard another hotel staffer tell some other guests that breakfast is complementary.

We enjoyed our stay, the views from the room was stunning, although the rooms are not soundproof, you can hear all the noise from outside as well as the noise coming from the hallway you can clearly hear people’s conversation. Which made it hard for us to sleep at night

This hotels has a plumbing problem. Hard to fix being above the train and a massive fountain. Our room smelled like a toilet bowl. After complaining, and requesting a refund to leave, we were told there were no more rooms, but then miraculously were switched to a different room. This room smelled like bleach and the drain was clogged. Backed up water began to rise in the bathroom. We complained again and were refused a refund and were offered to move rooms YET again. We were offended, were not met with respect and hospitality and how uncomfortable we were. We will never stay here again and will never recommend this hotel. Also, we were warned by multiple taxi drivers that the area is known for many people being on hard drugs. Not good for walking. We also were followed to the hotel and only crossed the street from the bar across the street. Security was great at diverting the man, but overall a terrible, costly, and uncomfortable experience.

Lovely hotel, rooms spacious and clean, pool and bar areas very nice, area is not so nice but an uber from outside hotel is only around 3€, hop on hop of buses just around the corner, and cafe/sandwich bar attached to hotel is really reasonably priced.

I really enjoyed my stay here. The only downside was that the room was on the small side, particularly the bathroom and what was described as a balcony which in reality was a tiny ledge. Nevertheless, I would definitely recommend this hotel.

Lovely hotel with a really lovely rooftop pool however area extremely lets this hotel down. Very run down and lots of undesirable characters roaming around. Not safe to walk home at night. Felt unsafe and on edge whilst outside this hotel. Was even warned about the area by the local taxi driver.

We have stayed here multiple times.. we went from loving it to never going back. The staff was amazing and the hotel was clean but the food was unedible.. The so-called breakfast was canned food. You couldn’t even look at it let alone eat it. Our dinner experience at The rooftop cloud 9. Restaurant, they have absolutely no business calling fried frozen mozzarella balls saga Ali..

We could not use the pool. It was packed over the weekend with adults and children. The rooftop restaurant had a great view of the acropolis.
