This hotel is great. 200m from airport Metro stop, walk to The Acropolis (or gaze at it from the rooftop bar), Monastiraki, Psyra, Plaka and Ermou Street. You'll get fab service from Reception, our room was spacious, the bed linen was unexpectedly good. We will definitely come back.
Easy train ride to the Acropolis and walk your way back through the ancient Roman Agora and the charming and historic Plaka district to the hotel where you go up to the rooftop bar and watch as dusk settles over the Acropolis. Life doesn't give you too many better afternoons and the room was comfortable with good service thrown in. When I get back to Athens Hotel Atttalos is where I'll be staying for sure.
We stayed in a balcony room for 3 nights and we loved the view of the Acropolis from our private terrace. The hotel is located adjacent to the Metro Station and a very short walk to the Plaka area and within easy walking distance to the major tourist sites including the Acropolis and the museum. While the hotel is not flash it is clean and functional and excellent value for money. There is certainly no need to stay in a pricier hotel in the Plaka area. The roof-top terrace provides wonderful sunset views of the Acropolis. While the bathroom was compact and the shower was a bit tight it was manageable. The staff were accommodating and helpful. Our room included daily breakfast and we loved the selection available, especially the Greek yoghurt and coffee machine, all of which was provided with "love" and care. On our last day we needed to catch an early ferry so they opened the breakfast room early especially for us which we really appreciated. We have no hesitation in recommending this hotel to anyone who wants a safe, clean place to stay without paying an exorbitant rate.
We really enjoyed our stay at Hotel Attalos. It's in a great, central location near Monastiraki Square and the Athens Flea Market. Very walkable. Our room had a nice balcony with a view of the Acropolis. The rooftop terrace and bar were terrific! I can't say enough about how nice and helpful Maria, Kostas and Sakis were at the front desk.
Great, safe location, close to food and shopping in Montistraki Square. The rooftop bar was a highlight, with a view of the acropolis and excellent drinks from a great bartender. Very clean, and good, reliable wifi.
Spent 4 nights in Athens after our Mediterranean cruise at this centrally located hotel two blocks from Monastiraki Square, a metro station, the Plaka district and within walking distance to many sites. Even though the area was depressed with almost every building front covered in graffiti, and many homeless or those seeking money for trinkets, the view of the acropolis from the hotel, the convenient location and the friendly and hospitable staff made the stay worth while. While I was concerned about pick pockets, I never felt unsafe. Our room was basic but clean and had great AC which was needed after a long day in the heat. Sitting out on the balcony at night looking at the lit up acropolis was magical. There are plenty of shops and eateries around the area so we did not utilized the breakfast option. I would recommend this hotel.
Did a 1 nighter here before heading out to the islands. Arrived really late , aound 3am so basically headed off to sleep. The hotel is super central and you can walk to plaka and the all sights if you need. Clean and had a really good nights sleep. Good price , very polite reception
What a great hotel, central for everything and great views from the roof top bar. Very friendly and helpful staff. Its easy if you going to the airport. Come out of Monastiraki square metro station and turn left up Athinas street and the hotel is 5 mins walk on the left. Breakfast was good, then it was easy getting the metro for the airport home.
Great location 2 min walk from metro that goes straight to the airport. Close to just about everything and in a perfect spot for cheeky wee bars and eateries. Room facing street was still quiet. Spacious for a city room with nice bathroom. Good quiet aircon - it was 42' outside. Staff were delightful and full of helpful hints.Rooftop bar with acropolis view was awesome. Didnt do breakfast but heard it was good. Highly recommended
I have to be truthful, I was a bit worried upon driving up to the hotel as the area seemed a bit sketchy. We had traveled through Greece for 2 weeks and I did not fear once until our last evening in Athens. The hotel had a great balcony and the breakfast was quite adequate. The room was European standard (no room to walk around the beds) but it served our purpose fine to relax before bed and leave in the morning back for the States.
