Conveniently located to many attractions. The staff was very helpful and easy to communicate with. The rooms are small but clean. I felt they were a bit over priced. The view from the roof top restaurant was amazing!!

Let me just start by saying the staff at Athens Gate Hotel was awesome. They were so helpful in arranging transport, giving directions to various locations, and accommodating to all our requests. The hotel is located in a great place, walking distance to many of the city's sights. Our room overlooked the Temple of Zeus, which was beautiful. The rooftop restaurant has spectacular views of the city. The complimentary breakfast is the same daily but it does offer a good variety of food. One con to this hotel is that you can hear the street noise from the rooms that face the Temple of Zeus so bring ear plugs if you are sensitive to noise. The beds are not the most comfortable; a little hard for my taste. Otherwise the room is very nice and modern.

Great place to to stay in whole Island. Oia(Eia) has best views and more upscale with less crowding. Don't forget to ask receptionist about a fish restaurant on bay with sunset view. Reservations required. Does get very crowded at sunset .

Perfect location in the middle of sites. Extremely helpful staff. Comfortable modern room. Amazing views particularly from the rooftop restaurant and bar area.

Stayed 3 nights in late June. Hotel was nice - rooms clean. Bathrooms recently remodeled. Main complains include small, ancient (and uncooled) elevators and A/C in the rooms. Granted it was very hot, but the A/C just couldn't keep up. Of course it doesn't run when you are gone (requires key card to run), but even when back it would take 4+ hours to bring the temps down a few degrees. Complained to front desk a few times and although they had an attitude about it, they sent someone to look at it (or so they said - we were out). The last night we were there is couldn't get the temps below about 85 degrees even after running all night. I suspect there are better options.

The location couldn't be better. Within short walking distance of the Acropolis, the Temple of Zeus and more. Amazing view from the rooftop restaurant. Hotel staff are incredibly nice. Very welcoming. Would highly recommend.

This hotel was in a great location where we were able to walk to a lot of the ancient ruins and the plaka district. The room was very comfortable, however, we had to call down to the front desk every night to get the air condition turned on. We were not able to turn this on from our room. This was a bit of a hassle. The daily breakfast was very delicious and we enjoyed the many traditional greek foods. The view from the roof top restaurant to the Acropolis is breath taking. We went to the restaurant for dinner and drinks a few occasions. Our only negative encounter with the restuarant was we went only for drinks one night. We were seated at a table, and the waiter made us feel as if we were not important since we were only having drinks and dessert. It took him quite awhile to come bring a menu, however, he did bring the dessert and drinks promptly. He brought our bill right away, then we never saw him for over an hour after. We had to flag someone down to pay our bill. He never checked to see if we wanted another drink, how the dessert was, or anything. I did email the hotel while we were there. The email reply only stated an apology, and the manager of the restaurant approached us about the situation. He was very friendly, but told us it may have happened due busy night and short staffed. As my fiancee and I both work in the customer service field, we understand how it can get busy, but customers should not be ignored.

Nice hotel, clean and updated .the free internet is virtually worthless.Spend the extra and get premium internet.

Except the location, there is not much I like about the hotel. Room is very basic and amenities not complete, the most terrible thing is the loud noises from the street which kept me up all night. It is impossible to sleep in rooms facing the Main Street and Temple Zeus. Staff was mostly not very service oriented and indifferent. Only one female at the reception was helpful changing me to a different room.

The hotel staff were so friendly and helpful. It was very refreshing. The location was great for the Acropolis and the metro but I found that I wanted to spend more time in the evening in the Plaka or Monastiraki neighborhoods. Consequently, there were several metro trips involved. The views from the restaurant, however, were amazing. It is definitely worth the time to have dinner or a drink in the restaurant around sunset to see the lights come on at the Acropolis.

Check-in procedures were straight-forward and smooth. Most helpful staff member assisted in planning a taxi for the next day during Independence Day celebrations, when most streets of central Athens would be closed from 6:00 AM until 1:00PM. The check-in staff offered many alternate means of getting to the airport, either via rail connection or taxi just beyond the perimeter of the parade district. But the true star of this property is the Roof Terrace Restaurant, where the breakfast (and other meals?) are served. One may dine inside or on the terrace with commanding views of the Parthenon, the Temple of Olympian Zeus, and the Palace viewed up the road. An extensive breakfast of hot and cold options couldn't be beat! Would DEFINITELY return to this property without hesitation!

The rooms are huge. We loved everything. Clean rooms, Helpful staff. We were welcomed with traditional Greek Candy and water. Inside our rooms the manager left us a welcoming note with a bottle of Greek Wine and a bag of dried fruits and peanuts. The Elevators were small but that is normal in Europe. Breakfast lounge was in the roof with view to the Temple of Zeus and View of the acropolis. Breakfast was Delicious, with a great selection of Greek food. Loved Loved Loved their Breakfast.

Staff is very nice. They provide upgrade for us. Free breakfast, plus you can request breakfast to go if you have to leave early in the morning. Just a little noisy for us.

Room is small, but comfortable. Welcome bottle of wine was nice, but no bottled drinking water was provided. Needed to buy at Lobby Bar for 1 Euro each.

The hotel staff were extremely friendly, helpful and welcoming. Rooms are small but comfortable. The included breakfast was very good, lots to choose from. Regular menu in restaurant is pretty expensive (even by US standards) but it's worth one dinner just for the view. Waiters were not great (bartenders were helpful though). The location can't be beat if you want to do the Acropolis and other ruins along with the Old Town (Plaka). But everything is super touristy. If you have a week in Athens, consider staying a couple of days down in Glyfada closer to the nice beaches and trendy shopping and restaurants. Check out Brasil Suites if you go down there.

Great friendly helpful staff Perfect location with breath taking views

This hotel is in the perfect location for checking out the Acropolis. The hotel staff was friendly and the hotel was very comfortable. The room was updated, and a comfortable size. The rooftop has a lovely view of the Acropolis and all of Athens. The breakfast was very good, lots of choices. I highly recommend this hotel.

Excellent location, right near the tourist attraction area. Friendly service, great staffing. The view from the roof top restaurant is truly amazing. To be honest, the facility is only a 3 star, simply room and basic amenity. But the view and staffing is definitely 5 star. I would recommend this hotel. Taxi is $38.00 from the airport. Hop-on Hop-off tour bus is just a few steps away.

This is a great hotel with a fabulous view of the Acropolis from the rooftop restaurant, undoubtedly one of the best views in Athens. For the most part, though, the rooms do not have a view of the Acropolis. Some of the rooms have a great view of the Temple of Zeus, which is right across the street from the hotel. The street is one of the main thoroughfares in Athens, so it is quite busy but the rooms are nicely soundproofed. The hotel is also only a couple of minutes walk to the main entrance of the Acropolis and the Plaka area, with good restaurants and shopping. The rooms we had were modern, spotless and nicely furnished. The staff at the reception were also helpful and friendly. I would definitely stay here again if I return to Athens.

Great place to stay as everything is very close! It's clean, not super lavish but that's not why we were there. Staff extremely nice and accommodating! Definitely recommend!
