This hotel is situated at very convienience area. good!

Breakfast great, staff great, room quite sufficient.

We stayed at the Economy Hotel for a total of two nights. To be honest, I wasn't expecting much since it was a 2 or 3 start hotel, but as soon as I walked in I was pleasantly surprised. Even before I got there, I already had an email with detailed instructions on how to get there; what buses or trains to take and how much they cost. Then we were greeted by two gentleman at the front desk and they pretty much planned our itinerary for us since ours was a short stay. When we went to our room, the elevator worked, the room was nice and spacious, the bathroom was clean. We even had a balcony and a view. The hotel is located within a short, 7-10 min walk to the Acropolis, so that was a plus! The surrounding area was also nice, didn't feel unsafe, but we also didn't come back too late, so im not sure how it is later on. It's also within walking distance to petty much everything we wanted to see; the archeology museum, the Agoura, Keramicos, the temple of Zeus and many many shops and restaurants. The day before we left, we arranged for a taxi to pick us up since they told us the metro didn't work at 4 am. So we set up a wake up call and when my boyfriend came down, they had packed us breakfast to go!!! I couldn't believe how nice they were! The service was just excellent!!! I would definitely stay here again.

This hotel was in an excellent location in the city. It was practically across the street from a hop on-hop off bus tour of the city but really maybe only a 15-25 minute walk away from many of the historical sites (La Plaka, the Parthenon, etc.). The staff was friendly and helpful and our room was clean and comfortable. The AC worked great which was wonderful since we were there in the middle of summer. The area behind is a little shady at night but as two traveling girls, we had no problems. It's nothing fancy but it was perfect for what we needed.

This is a value hotel which met expectations. Everything was working in the room, it even had a fridge - nice addition for a 2 star hotel. Free WiFi and a very pleasant staff who try to make your stay comfortable and give a good advice about local life. Location is very good - walking distance to Acropolis and other touristy spots. The only issue is that there is a sketchy neighborhood close by so it is better to go south towards Acropolis, not North. Having said that I walked through the sketchy parts of the city on my way to a Greek sauna and had no issues. Would recommend is you don't want to spend too much money and still be in the central location.

Staff very friendly and helpful. He spoke perfect English and provided invaluable information. For an European hotel, room was very nice and the location extremely close to all attractions. I'd definitely stay at the Economy Hotel again.

This hotel was a very pleasant surprıse for us as we had stayed in another Athens hotel and realized that much of the area was no so great. But this hotel (although across from a sex theater) was clean and comfortable. Obviously you get what you pay for and compared to a fıve star hotel thıs does not have many ammenities but for the prıce we could not have asked for more. Staff was frıendly, place was clean, computers were free, breakfast was good, and a close walk to the metro. We would defınıtely stay agaın!

The location is ok except for the prostitutes around the corner. The staff is super helpful and friendly though.

Central location. Easy walk to the acropolis. Very helpful friendly staff.

Ok for the money. Area is not the most desirable. A short walk to Omonia and Monastiraki Metro stations tho and you can also walk to the acropolis.

Being somewhat dazed by just arriving in Athens for the first time in 40 years, I was instantly relieved when the taxi driver found the Economy Hotel. The young man at the Reception Deck could not have been more helpful and friendly. He provided an excellent map of the area, explained the intricacies of Greek hotel rooms (inserting room key into box to turn lights on) and gave clear directions to nearest Metro stop, including information on fares, payment methods, etc. He was exceptionally polite and very well-informed; also spoke very good English! The room was simple but spotlessly clean and very comfortable. An added bonus was the free internet access provided to guests by merely requesting a 30-min. card from the Desk. The included continental breakfast was perfectly adequate, the food was fresh and plentiful. The room was also pleasant and very clean and comfortable. When I decided to return to Athens 2 weeks later, I was very sad to be told that there were no rooms available. I had become very comfortable at the Economy Hotel. I would definitely return and I would definitely recommend it to any friend planning to visit Athens. Did I mention that it is within a nice walking distance to the Acropolis! and some excellent museums.

The Economy Hotel in Athens is in a prime spot, located within walking distance to many of the restaurants, shops, and tourist attractions (ie the Acropolis). The staff was very friendly and helped us out with maps of the area and suggestions as to where to go and what to do. It was also pretty cheap and I considered it good value for the money. You get what you pay for here, so don't expect much in the way of ammenities or comfortable rooms. Our room was small and generally needed some renovations, but at least it was clean and the air conditioning worked. All in, I would recommend this to travelers looking for a cheap place to stay in the center of Athens.
