Nice place to stay, close to attractions. Very clean helpful staff. Good breakfast buffet, and roof top bar. I definitely recommend the hotel .It's an hour drive from the airport, but close to Parthenon and Acropolis.
The Novotel hotel in Athens is very nice, has helpful staff and is situated minutes from the metro and buses. It is situated in a bit of a sketchy area of Athens though. We didn't go out the first night and we're told if we were to go out, be careful of our stuff! In the daytime, it isn't bad. Traffic way better than in Rome. Our view is on some lower income housing, but it is quiet and we aren't having to listen to ambulance sirens every fifteen minutes!
Stayed here last year, hotel was spot on. Nice rooftop bar with a pool and stunning views, room was clean and attractive, if I had to mention anything it would be the location, at night the surrounding area is not somewhere you'd want to explore. Apart from that I'd go again!
If u see the pictures for the hotel u feel it's just overlong the Acropolis but it's far from it The hotel is a little below average to the Novotel we see in other European cities However the staff was good Rooms were very basic - just 2 points above the Ibis
Nice hotel with the usual amenities. Reception bar, roof bar with pool and great views across the city, including the acropolis. Wifi, gym, good breakfast. Rooms ok, but not a great view from where I was. Not much to do locally so need a cab to get out. Good conference facilities.
Pros first; Reasonable price for a Novotel quality. Helpful & smiling crew. Good rooftop. Clean. Cons: Not one of the best locations in the city. Neighborhood is not unsafe (we always walked from/to the hotel) but unfortunately seems unsafe. There are lots of abondoned shops & buildings in the area and streets are full of immigrants. It's a little bit annoying not to see any Greek people while walking to the metro (550-600 mt. to Larissa station and 800-850 mt. to Omonia station)
We chose this hotel as we had stayed in a Novotel in New Zealand. That experience had raised our expectations. The hotel is good but the actual location is not exciting. Though it is close to Metro stations, yet the locality gives a different feeling when you are at the other side of the Metro stations. The room was not as big as we expected(based on Novotel Hamilton). The breakfast has a wide variety. The roof-top swimming pool was enjoyable.
The first reason why we choose this hotel was the roof-top swimming pool with a view on Acropolis. This was a true information. The pool snack bar enabled us to enjoy a god rest after a long touristic walk. While Novotel is not fully downtown, its position at 5min. walk from metro station is a great advantage: in less than 10min we can reach the main touristic areas. Check-in is fast and efficient, rooms are large enough, bathroom is OK. The breakfast buffet is fair. The overall experience was good. The only suggestion is to require a room far from elevators: we could hear some corridor and elevator noises from the room.
Nice hotel, however the neighborhood and location lets this down a little. The facilities are from what you expect from a Novotel, however, you don;t feel like just getting out and walking around to experience the area. The location is outer suburb of the inner city. It is best to grab a taxi and go to the tourist spots, rather than walk. Transport is very regular, inexpensive and handy. Recommend for the accommodation and view from the rooftop terrace.
The Novotel in Athens has a very nice Location with an excellent view onto the Acropolis from the rooftop Restaurant. The rooms are good and the food is excellent. The Hotel is Close to the Metro and the main attractions of Athens are not far away.
