Staff was very professional and helpful, including during threatened airport strike.

For $100 a night this hotel was exactly what I expected. It's a bit small and outdated but clean and very convenient. Close by all the major sites so we walked everywhere. 5 min walk to the Plaka where tons of great restaurants are. 15 mins to acropolis, 25 mins to flea market. Would definitely recommend for anyone looking for a budget hotel In a prime location. You're in athens, you shouldn't be In your room aside from showering and sleeping!

Room was small, shower was a little beaten up. A/c did work that's a plus . Flushing the toilet was a process had to do it several times for it to flush. Breakfast was nice a little bit of everything. Overall the hotel was ok nothing crazy. Close to a few things. We rented a car so we didn't have a problem getting anywhere.

The location was great, just a 10 minute walk from acroplis and the staff was very helpful. We were in a room in the front of the hotel and could hear the traffic below. If you are a light sleeper, this might be an issue.

This hotel is fine, but don't expect anything special. The beds weren't comfortable and the room could use some TLC. The rug was ripped in several places and although not dirty, the room could definitely use a facelift. The location is fine for the morning because it is close to the Akropolis and Zeus Temple, but it is on the other side of the Akropolis from most of the areas where the restaurants/nightlife is, so you end up having a longer walk or taxi after dinner or a few drinks.

I stayed at the hotel for a week during October 2012 for my honeymoon thinking the 4 star rating was going to impress my wife. The bad: really hard and uncomfortable bed, I was hurting for the first two nights, the toilet is next to the wall so you have to use it sideways..., thought that was kind of funny :), most of the staff is very cold, but some are very friendly and helpful, also I didn't know the breakfast wasn't included and was 24 euros/ 50 dollars per person per day (hu!!!???). The good: Location, location, location, I rented a car and didn't use it, everything (in Athens) within walking distance, good neighborhood, and room cleanliness was good too. Final word: Definitely not a 4 star hotel, not bad, but if you can find an average hotel for less $ in the area, then don't waste your money here, you will not get a 4 star treatment.

Average place. Nice view from the bar. Close to the Acropolis.

Stayed 6 nights. Really good value. Walking distance to Plaka, Acropolis Museum and sights. Breakfast buffet much better than anticipated especially fresh croissants. Helpful staff. Free internet. Recommend definitely. Would stay there again without hesitation. Used Metro from airport, 100 metres to hotel. Mattress might have been softer but hotel very good.

I had an excellent experience. Will come back again if I have another chance to visit Athens. Very convenient for transportation with buses, tram, and Metro; all within walking distance. Would certainly recommend this hotel. Take the breakfast offer of 4 euros added to the package. The only small negative is you can hear the traffic at night even though I was on the 5th. Floor.

Very Clean and Comfortable! Staff was helpful. Short walk to subway/metro. Would definitely recommend!

Everything was great. Price was real good for my 3 day stay. Tried to extend and the price had doubled. Definately worth $70.00, not $140.00. Internet in room did not work some times. Staff was great. Bathroom was small with miniture tub. Did not include breakfast and they wanted 28 euros for a their buffet. Also 7 euros for a small beer. I was buying the same large beer elsewhere for 2.

We liked the location. There is a coffee shop across the street and an ATM around the corner. It is a short walk to the Plaka and all the monuments, etc. The staff was very helpful. The rooftop bar / restaurant had a direct stunning view of the acropolis, especially at night- awesome. Drinks were expensive, but the view and piano player made it worth a visit!!! The only thing we would have liked would be to get a double bed instead of 2 singles. Overall, we would stay there again.

We stayed only one night but wish we could have stayed longer. It was a great location just below the Acropolus. We walked up a side street to get to the walkway that goes almost all the way around the Acropolus. From there you go upwards to the top.You need to buy a ticket to get to the top but it is good for several other sites and these are also mainly within walking distance of the hotel. There are numerous good eateries within 10 minutes walk. The hotel is very clean and modern and the desk personnel were very helpful.

Within walking distance to the Acropolis, agora and the plaka! Fun filled days sightseeing and romantic nights dining under the lights of the Acropolis. Concierege extremely helpful with directions and helping to ship items back to the states. Highly recommend this hotel!

Athenian Callirhoe was a great hotel. The room itself and gym were adequate, but the service and hotel rooftop restaurant and bar were unbeatable. This hotel is just a few blocks (five minute walk) from the Acropolis, but is far enough away to not be crowded with tourists. We had a week stay and felt at home here. While a small feature, having a free hotel water cooler was necessary in the heat and saved us money and time in not searching for water. The hotel provided an electrical adapter in the room and at times let us use the Internet for free. Our last night we ate at the rooftop restaurant and wished we had done it sooner and more often. The view of the acropolis was spectacular and the hotel environment was magical. One thing missing form this hotel was a pool. Although we went to be tourists and not necessarily to rest at a pool. It was hot and walking much of the city, it would have been nice to come back to the hotel and refresh ourselves in a pool. We saved the last three says of our trip for lounging on Santorini and we knew we would get our pool time later in our trip, so we didn't mind this missing amenity.

I was in Athens for only a week to visit friends and chose this hotel for its location. It was close enough to the Plaka (either walking or by Metro) and an easy Mero ride to Syntagma, etc. But, the room was quite stuffy and hot. Also, though the room was clean and fresh, the bed was hard and the sheets were very rough . . But, the pillows were very comfortable. The breakfast was a good deal and quite tasty. Overall, it was not too bad for the money.

I tried to contact the hotel several times prior to arriving to confirm a baby crib, but they never returned my e-mails, so once we got there, we had no baby crib for two days, that was fun. It is no where near a 5-star or 4-star quality hotel, more like a 2-star. The hotel is right next to one of the busiest streets in Athens with non-stop traffic past 3am & it is very noisy, good luck sleeping. The bed was like sleeping on a concrete slab, the reduced water-flow shower was like taking a shower with water coming out of a soda straw, there was no air conditoning, and the maid took one of my room keys (not sure why she would). There was one member of the hotel staff that was helpful and nice, the rest were not customer friendly. The best thing this hotel has going for it is the breakfast buffet.

Very close to Acropolis and metro. Was able to get around city and back home with ease. Room was very nice and I loved having slippers in the room. Conformtable bed with nice pillows. Free internet in room was great as well. Will definitely stay here again when in Athens.

We stayed in this hotel for just couple of days on the way home after spending 10-days in Santorini. We did most of our shopping at the Plaka, since the prices in Santorini were mostly ridiculous. The hotel is about 5-blocks to the Plaka and it's an easy walk and safe.

Our purpose for staying at this hotel was to be able to walk to the new Acropolis Museum and to easily get to the National Archaeological Museum by way of the Metro. Both of these goals were easily accomplished, and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this hotel.
