The property is in dire need of maintenance. The hallways reek of an unpleasant odor, and the room has a strong musty smell. The bed sheets were partially torn, and the blankets bear cigarette burns. The bathroom appears worn-out and neglected. Overall, the hotel requires immediate attention to maintenance. As for the breakfast, it was highly disappointing—a mere muffin accompanied by coffee… If you’re reading this review and contemplating staying at this hotel, my heartfelt advice is to avoid it altogether or escape while you still can.
The room was not maintained properly; the bathtub was peeling, there were stains on the wall near the toilet. The upholstery needed cleaning badly.
Convenient to University of Maryland College Park. Also close to public transport. Several dining options and eateries located nearby.
Bathroom towel rack was falling down we couldn’t place our towels on the rack!
I have only one thing that went wrong. Coming from Germany and after a long flight, naturally a European Cell phone doesn't work here so I had passed my hotel address along to a couple of people that I wanted to meet while in DC. FORGET IT!! The folks at the desk would only pass a telephone call to my room, if the people knew my room number. But how in the Hell, can someone know my room number, if they cann't reach me? And making a call to Germany, via the telephone in the room, even when I gave a $15 deposit, FORGET IT!! If this is a modern hotel, then things like this should work, especially in the Capital City of the United States. Hell, this worked better in Egypt, a third rate country. Therefore, my poor rating of the desk staff.
I booked a non-smoking king bed room. When i got to the hotel, the receptionist twisted it and said i booked a smoking room. I don't smoke and can't book for a smoking room. She then said the only non-smoking room was a double queen bed room. It was easy and straight forward to say the room i booked several months ago was giving out than to play tricks. They gave me a room i didn't want because i booked a non-refundable room. The internet never worked for the six days i was in the hotel. No toothpaste was given.
Worked out perfect for our two night stay for UMD homecoming weekend. We were very comfortable. We will book again for the value and location.
Nice hotel new to that area close where i needed to be continental breakfest was nice. Great hotel great price. I wish i could of stayed longer to enjoy the area more i would recamend this to anyone
Hotel was aged and staff slow. Room was clean and adequate and breakfast minimal but sufficient.
Staff were very friendly, courteous and helpful. However, the room's damp carpet and musty smell pervaded the entire stay. Disappointing!
Every thing was pretty much average for a super 8 motel, except for breakfast.--- of all of the super 8 motels I have stayed in---15 to 20 a year--- this so called breakfast was a joke. coffee full of grounds, only dried bread for toast. Luckily for me, I wanted to try out some of the local college diners, so breakfast items, other than coffee did not bother me that much.
Room gave me a feel of a third world country. Television didn't work, and front desk said it wasn't their problem. Knew it was budget before going in and wont go back.
Great room and clean nice view well worth the money. Peacefully know u did a good choice
I stayed here when traveling to DC because someone said it was close to the Metro. It's actually quite a few miles. I mean, it's only 5-10 minutes to drive to the closest station, but you also have to pay to park at the station and it's not walkable. The hotel was ok. The room wasn't great, but was ok. It seemed like kind of a shady area. It's very close to the University of Maryland. I can't say I'd stay there again, but if you were only staying for a night really quick, it's not too bad.
The hotel was okay. The bad thing about this place is the women at the front desk. She is the rudest women I have ever met in my life. The breakfast place is small. The location of the place is good.
conveniently located- short drive to the metro station and just down the road from downtown college park. room and bathroom clean. breakfast was acceptable and coffee was ok.
this hotel was decent the staff were nice and very helpful. the air condition in my room did not work but besides that everything else is OK
We arrived with another family three hours before check in time. Staff did not saying no, just helped up to check in. Great feeling, because we have kids and seniors. We need a short break after a long trip from New York and a brief stay in Baltimore. The one night stay is nice and comfortable. the breakfast the following morning is great. a lot of choices and you just need to serve yourself. the only thing is the bath room door cannot be closed easily (room 213). Location is great, near I-495 and route 1.
