This hotel had clean rooms and adequate supplies. We discovered their Keurig machine in our room didn't work. Upon calling the desk, we received prompt atttention...she even brought us two cups of coffee and supplies without being asked! Superior customer service. Breakfast omelette, biscuits and gravy and their delicious cinnamon rolls got us going!
Using a coupon from the nearby rest area makes this hotel a real bargain. We have stayed in previous years and have always been pleased. Staff is extremely pleasant and all greeted us as they took care of their duties. The young man at check in was very kind. Room is good and breakfast well staffed . We will stay again. Quiet and on hill so separated from highways.
Stayed 2 nights. Overall, I would stay here again, Pros - the PEOPLE 1. Every person I met that worked for this hotel was wonderful (front desk, cleaning, breakfast staff). 2. Hotel was very clean, both lobby/common areas and the rooms 3. Beds were comfortable and everything in the room was functioning as expected Cons - the BUILDING 1. Hotel walls are thin. While trying to sleep, could hear TV and noises from room next door. Also, could hear walking around in the room above (I was on the second floor). 2. Hotel room doors close very loudly. They close very fast and take you by surprise... so even people that are trying to be quiet early in the morning probably didn't "catch" their door before it closed loudly. 3. No Frig or MW in the room. I didn't really need it this time, but typically for the price in a hotel that off an expressway exit, these are in the rooms.
Great place to visit quite but nice enjoyed the indoor pool and staff was very pleasant. Weither working or playing would visit again. Maids worked until 7pm if necessary and overall spotless from door to room
This hotel was nice but the pool and hot tub wasnt anything special and needed cleaned. The one thing i will say is that Kim was the front desk attendant and she gave us great customer service and was able to meet our needs and made us feel at home. If you go there ask for Kim shes the best!
Our daughter attends a nearby college, and we came in to visit for parent weekend. This was the closest hotel around, because the Inn located on campus was booked. At first glance, the hotel looks new, or perhaps has been given a sizable makeover. Unfortunately, the hotel exterior was the most impressive feature of this property. Check in was efficient and friendly. You could see the back office from the front desk, and it looked very messy and unprofessional. They should really clean it up, or put in a door so guests aren't left with a bad first impression. Our room was configured like a standard hotel room with two queen beds. One of the beds had the bottom portion of the bed skirt tucked between the mattress and box spring. It was like that along the entire bottom end of the bed, so the box spring was left exposed. I'm sure it was just an oversight when the bed was made up, but it made it seem like there wasn't much care put into cleaning the room. The floor and tub/shower lining in the bathroom had a LOT of black long hairs on them. We are blond. It was gross. It made it seem like they just pushed around a wet mop and called it a day. There's no way it was vacuumed. EW. The entire bathroom steamed up after my husband took a brief shower. Ventilation is very poor and there is no additional fan to turn on. That left pretty much every hairy surface wet when I got in there to shower. Again, kind of gross. Room temperature was good and easy to control. TV reception was good. No USB ports in the lamps, and there was dust and hair all over the base of the lamp located between the beds. Final negative-we were charged $249 (including tax) for a ONE night stay. Clearly, this hotel was capitalizing on the special event taking place at the university. That always bugs me. Positive-there is coffee located in the lobby 24 hours a day. We were able to get up early and grab a coffee down there. No way I was going to use the Keurig in the room. This is probably the best hotel option at this exit. The other hotels looked REALLY rough. We were able to deal for one night, but are hoping to stay on campus next time.
There was nothing wrong with this place per se - the room was nice, relatively clean, standard hotel breakfast, wifi and AC were fine, but I' m glad it was just a one night stay. We clearly got the impression that the hotel is designed by people who know what they are doing but it is not run by professional hoteliers. As we walked in, the first place we saw just across from the door was the dark breakfast area as the lights there were switched off. It gave the impression that the hotel would soon be closing for the day. The reception area is small and you actually have to guess that the two desks in front of an office which is overflowing with papers and other weird miscellaneous articles is where you are supposed to check in. Across from this chaotic mess there is a nice sofa on the side which is right in front of a huge window looking into the pool area. Do the staff watch guests swim in their free time??? This whole lobby, breakfast room and reception area need to be redesigned. There was 24/7 complimentary tea and coffee but it was in a dark corner of the dimly lit breakfast area so it didn't feel very inviting going there. Throughout the lobby and hotel there were several signs reminding guests to respect quiet time at night. I think the majority of guests here come to sleep at night in between days on the interstate and they don't have all night parties in mind. The mirror in our room had smudges on it. And one hotel pamphlet in the room was clearly being reused as it had coffee stains on it. The mattresses had some kind of a plastic layer under the sheets which rustled every time you moved. (The mattresses way too soft for my liking.) At breakfast the lady working at the reception came and helped herself to the food and then ate it at the reception desk. The rooms are cleaned by a group of young men. I'm not saying they do a bad job, it' s just a very peculiar sight. The rooms have no fridge or microwave. No ventilation in the bathroom. Somehow I expected more professionalism from a hotel branded Holiday Inn.
Checking in was very efficient. The room was fine. Easy access off the I70. We were travelling and just needed a room for the night. This met our needs and my only minor implant was that it looked like they had repaired the calking in the bathroom and did not do a very good job. Would I recommend the hotel yes
We had two nights at this hotel on our way to Chicago, as family trip we had two double beds room, the staff at the reception and the restaurant are really excellent, the rooms are comfortable but are not interconnected and no safe in the room otherwise things were good, it was easy to visit Indianapolis city and come back, I advise to visit the nearby park, Lieber state park and the lake Cagles mill, are excellent The restaurants are at walking distance from the hotel It's very good choice
I travel a lot for work. This Holiday is was the best hotel I stayed in while working in Indiana. The staff was friendly and helpful. Even when I checked back in after checking out due to weather, then checking back out because my company was moving me elsewhere in Indiana. The staff handled it awesomely. The room was clean, the bed was comfortable, the WiFi worked great. The breakfast was good. I wish I could have stayed there another night, instead of where I'm staying tonight.I would definitely recommend to stay there to anyone passing through.
