It's considered a cheap hotel in a big city, and for a cheap hotel it's not bad, the breakfast is brief but helpful, the heating and cooling system works perfectly and the location is 20 minute drive from downtown but by the highway which is convenient. The worst thing I think is the internet, the higher speed internet was not reaching the room that end with odd numbers from 01-019, I struggled a lot trying to send a single email.
I needed to change my check in date from Monday to Tuesday. I called on Saturday asking for the hotel to change my checkin date and they would not without still making me pay for Monday. This is with giving them a two day notice.
did not check in to room at all went to Chicago visit my sick brother at loyola hospital was no able to check into hotel at all called hotel refused to refund the room charge of one day that i had paid in advance for
Yes it's just a bed but for $68 what do you want...I parked, slept, showered and had coffee...it's an old motel that will never change...if they spent some money they could get double given its location...non smoking room was just all I desired and they did that much...Hey you get what you pay for its not a ripoff by any means Go here on the cheap and sleep
We arrived at this hotel because my navigator , directed me to the wrong hotel. Our actual hotel was in Arlington Heights(not an Econo Lodge). We had been driving for hours, tired and figured we had another hour drive, decided to just stay for the night. Charged me $101 because we didn't reserve the room. They gave us a room on the third floor. We exited the elevator, and opened the hallway door(on the third floor the elevator opens on to an outside balcony ) and was with worst smell, smelled like combination of body odor and curry. The room wasn't much better like it hadn't been opened in a while. The fridge didn't work. I wouldn't stay here again.
I've stayed at this hotel in the past & had problems with my stay. After reporting my experiences with Choice's management, most of the problems have been corrected. I say almost because this time the room phone wasn't working. I reported the problem to the front desk clerk as I was checking out. Hopefully, this will be corrected before I stay there again. On the positive side, the room prices are reasonably priced. My senior rate was $58, which was almost $20 less than the other Choice hotels in the area, e.g., Comfort & Quality Inns.
This hotel was terrible - one of my worst stays! Here were the problems: The room was too cold, even after setting the temperature to 80 & 90 degrees - the heater wasn't cycling properly; framed picture over the bed fell & landed on my head - luckily, I wasn't hurt. cause: poorly assembled hooks; sink had low hot water pressure - water barely flowed out; couldn't take food or drinks into my room or out the door - desk manager scolded me for it & said that I could only eat in the breakfast room; no coffee maker in the room; no microwave in the room; no shampoo; no soap (I had to go downstairs & ask for it); missing "do not disturb" sign (I had to go downstairs & ask for it); TV remote control wasn't working (again, I had to go downstairs so that the desk clerk could give me new batteries, plus the back was missing - had to be taped up. Needless to say, I won't be staying at this hotel again. I'm a Choice Diamond member & have stayed at their other hotels without any problems. I realize that Econo Lodge is an economy hotel, but at least it should be a pleasant place for guests to stay & not have all these problems. I would recommend that Choice management inspect this hotel to see that it meets corporate quality standards.
I booked with them for the only reason that they promised I would get a microwave in both rooms that I booked. I called the day before my arrival to make sure and they confirmed I would get them. I get there and neither one had it. Then they said they would try to give the micro for one room only. I paid for two rooms not one only. The lady at the front desk said they did have a note of my request but did not have the microwave available and the so called manager told me the next day they don't have any note. A bunch of liars...they will lie to get your money.
My wife and I have stayed here for two weeks. I know some folks have other opinions, but I have two weeks of experience. We where treated extremely well. Our room was spotless, no odors and crisp sheets. My wife insists on crisp sheets. We have stayed in many hotels. At times we woke up with back aches. Not here. We slept well. If your coming here soon you'll be treated to a beautiful swimming pool. They've been diligently working on it for this summer. I found out today that it is heated. And, if you have a craving for a snack or pop you'll only pay $.75, not $1.50 plus like other places. The breakfast is truly a continental breakfast. Sit down I may add. They have a beautiful dining room with a television for the kids. I have had continental breakfasts in other hotels. No place to sit just grab and go. I'm sure you will enjoy your stay, we did.
This Econolodge was a former Super eight hotel. Is the worst hotel I've ever stayed in in my life. The rate I paid for this hotel what's ridiculous it was below a one star hotel. The breakfast that they offered was basically toast and juice. it seemed very unclean and not worth my time or money.
