My wife and two small dogs stayed here for two nights on our way to South Dakota. After spending the previous two months in a Candlewood in Dulles, Va, I wasn’t sure what to expect. In short, the facility, accommodations and staff were excellent. The room (queen suite) was clean and well appointed. The area where the hotel is located felt safe - even at night (I never had let my wife walk our dogs at night in Dulles) with plenty of dining options nearby. The staff - each and every person - was friendly, helpful and made us feel at home. We so loved this hotel that we made reservations to return a few days later during our return trip to Virginia. Highly, highly, highly recommended!
We have stayed here on multiple occasions, most recently to move our daughter to Champaign to start summer school at the U of I (and her college volleyball career). The manager, Ashely, and her staff are the best anywhere. I travel alot for work and stay in IHG hotels nearly every week. As a Spire Elite member, I can honestly say this was a great experience. We stayed 4 nights. The rooms were clean and quiet, the beds were very comfortable, the wifi worked continually and the staff was always available to help. Ashley worked with IHG corporate to get us in using Reward Points when IHG Corporate had no more Reward Nights available (I've learned that IHG Corporate only alots a certain number of rooms as reward night points rooms and none were available thru the IHG website 3 mos in advance of this stay.) So, after a busy 4 days I had to drive from Champaign to New Orleans for a business conference. In the process of packing to leave, I forgot and left my hanging clothes in the room closet. I did not realize this until 7 hours into my 14 hour drive. I called at close to midnight. After explaining my situation, the staff member went up to the room and checked to find my clothes still in the closet. She held them at the front desk until the next morning when I received a call from Karen Pitts. After explaining my situation, Karen offered to either ship them or drop them off with daughter at her dorm on campus. I accepted her offer to drop them off at my daughters dorm as I stopped & purchased additional clothes for my conference on my way to New Orleans. Ashley, Karen and all the staff went above and beyond what I expected and can only say that if you are planning a stay in the ChamBana area, please consider this hotel, you won't regret it.
Went to the Candlewood for a weekend concert and was impressed with the quality of the desk team (especially the young lady that checked us in). The rooms were spacious and had all the essentials. The bathrooms could use a little further attention to detail as their were several long black hairs (my family all have blond hair). But, overall a very good experience.
I stayed here for a little over a month due to relocating and finding a new house. The rooms here are easily suitable for this type of situation OR just for a few days. The staff is probably the most exceptional staff I have ever encountered in all my forty plus years of travelling...the only downfall is that they don't have a pool or free breakfast. But if you have to stay in Champaign indefinitely for business this is the place to go. AND they have several household items you can borrow that make the stay soooo nice...like a blender to make your own smoothies, etc. Each room has a large refrigerator, microwave and stove, so you can make your own meals on demand. I love this hotel so much, that if I'm in the area I always stop and say Hi to the manager Ashley. I wish all hotels were just like this one - clean, inviting, environmentally safe, and the nicest people to deal with ever. BONUS: there is an outside area for grilling which I utilized and had some friends join me for chicken wings and a brewski. This is where you stay.......avoid the Marriott next door like a dreaded disease.......nasty, dirty and run of the mill there.....and just a short distance away is the hotel experience everyone covets. Good Job Ashley and crew. I'm in love with this place....
We stayed here yesterday and were fairly impressed. No pool, though. Each room had a kitchenette. Rooms very quiet, but not a very good view at all. This is also a good place to stay if you are looking for a last second room.
this place was great . Clean and homey and comfortable. We got to the hotel changed into party clothes , had a snack, fixed our hair and left for the party. We brought snacks because we were unsure of the amount of party food. and we needed something for the am. Fantastic full size kitchenette. we had a great time
I stayed here for about 3/4 of a day. Price is relative high compared to the area. Room is just a little smaller than the around hotels but it is fine. There is nothing bad about this hotel yet for a short-term stay.
This is my hometown. For the last several years when I visited my parents, and now that my Dad's dead; I've been able to count on Candlewood Suites. The rooms are clean. They allow my dog. The service is good. The personnel is polite. I always stay several days. And I use the kitchen for at least breakfast sometimes more. If you want bells and whistles you won't get it here. If you want dependable, comfortable, and clean with a kitchen; this is the place to go.
We drove all day and stopped here because we needed to keep some food froze and with their full sized refrigerators we were able to do that. The night was a very nice young lady that made us feel welcomed and was very helpful in finding us a place to get some food delivered. The room was clean and the bed and pillows were very comfortable. Just what we needed.
My husband and I stayed at this property with our Brittany on October 18, 2016 when returning from a pheasant hunting trip in Montana. This property is located close to the Interstate in an area that has a number of other hotels. There is ample room for dog walking, and our room was conveniently located on the first floor near an outside door. Our room was clean, quiet and very comfortable with a full kitchen. The cooling system works extremely well as my husband, who loves a cool room, asked me to turn the temperature up! I'm not sure about its proximity to nearby restaurants as we had eaten before we arrived. That notwithstanding, I would recommend this property to folks traveling with a canine companion without reservation.
