A pig dolled up in makeup. When we arrived to the room, the floor was covered in dog fur & had not been swept or vacuumed. Cheap drywall repair. Bar inside hotel was out of basic drinks and the bartenders needed a sheet of paper to make a drink. Intoxicated guy urinated on the floor & Staff never cleaned it up. When I told the front desk all this, the receptionist said they'd have their manager call me for customer feedback. That never happened. Overall, way to expensive for the quality of service & comfort.
Later photos for this hotel are true reflection of how it looks - it is brand new and completely renovated! The moment you enter the lobby, it smells fresh and clean! Rooms are sparkly clean and fresh, we were very happy with our stay!
I have visiited Birmingham many times and this was my first time staying at Hotel Indigo. I was very impressed with the Hotel over all. The staff especially Deshun, at the front desk went above and beyond to make my stay an enjoyable one. His customer service and attention to guest needs was exemplorary and fantatic! The room was perfectly designed and made me feel like I was staying at a friend's house. It was a wonderful experience, and I will be staying there again when I return to Birmingham! I highly reccomend Hotel Indigo!
There are not enough words to describe our amazing experience at The Indigo! From the first call to check in a night early, till the end of our stay, the staff went above and beyond to accommodate us. Stephen ' THE STEPHEN" at the front desk was a angel on earth! He was always present with the best knowledge of restaurants, selecting the perfect room for us, making reservations, phone calls and genuine hospitality. Stephen is the reason I bragged so much and brought my family with 2 additional rooms to the Indigo. They had other accommodations at a , Ummmmmm , not so pleasant B&B in the area. Stephen made sure we had a crib, close rooms, accommodated a late check out for delayed flights and the list goes on and on and on. Our room 503 was a 2 room king suite with views of Birmingham. So many windows with cushioned seats. A yummy comfortable bed with the perfect covers and pillows. Clean, spacious, cool colors, black out blinds, living room, kitchen and seating area with a bathroom stocked with Aveda products. Valet was not just valet. These guys were fantastic. Garrett stood out like a jewel in a crown. He was a "can do" guy. Always professional and personable. Have you ever checked out of a hotel and need to store your bags for a bit and a valet ask HOW would you like me to load and place your bags? I"ll come to your room, load your car how you'd like it and pull it around for you when you're ready?! A first for us and so grateful. We got in our car for a long drive home. Garrett left a THANK YOU card with his business card for future travel. Casey the co-valet was courteous and full of outstanding service with a smile! My husband and I travel a lot. Being in the airline industry we have had hundreds of hotel encounters. Indigo Birmingham is a TOP experience. 5 Points area has many restaurants next door and walking distance. We'd like to return just to feel like ROYALTY
During a recent procedure at UAB we used the hotel to recover. It was quiet, clean, and comfortable. The best part of the stay was the Valet Casey who was one step ahead of our every need. The only knock on the hotel was the kitchen in the suite. It didn't have a microwave and the refrigerator was poor. Normally this would not have mattered to us traveling, but our stay was medical and we really needed those amenities since getting out to restaurants wasn't an option. It's close to UAB Medical Center so ambulance noise is factor to consider.
The property was originally a medical building, so the design team used its history to create a cool, hip, modern, apothecary theme, complete with front desk staff in white lab coats. The spacious apartment-like rooms are awesome with a cool modern boutique hotel vibe. It can be pricey as the rates fluctuate depending on local events and conferences. The fun apothecary motif is carried through to the cocktail lounge. On display is a myriad of test tubes with brightly colored liquid and various lab equipment. It completely draws you into their "cocktail lab" for an enjoyable concoction! The hotel is located in the trendy hip Five Points district so there are plenty of places within walking distance to eat and enjoy craft beer and cocktails. Valet parking is pricey but I recommend it, as it solves the problem of downtown parking. Best Tip: Don't forget to get your IHG points since this hotel is part of the InterContinental Group.
This is a nice hotel for a decent price. The location is spot on for any business downtown. The staff is friendly and goes over the top to make your stay a nice one. Special recognition to Casey the valet and Marcus the bartender.
The room was clean, as was the rest of the hotel. The breakfast was outstanding, by its variety, quality. The people were very friendly and helpful. The room charge was very reasonable and the location was great. If I could make a couple of suggestions would be these. The bathtub side wall was high making it difficult to get out of it especially for an older person. There was no support bar. Having one of those installed would help and make the bathtub safer. Second suggestion is to have a dedicated printer in the computer area so the people could print the boarding passes easier than having to send the information to their personal email then forward it to the reception desk email (which by the way did not work) to have them print the barding passes. I appreciate it that on the hotel website there were instructions how to get to the hotel from the airport by using public transportation.
We loved the staff, especially Casey the Valet, Stephen the manager and the weekend bartender was awesome. The hotel itself was clean and seemed new. On one side of the hotel is the lovely and historic Methodist church and Chez Fon Fon and Highlands restaurants, all of which are Great. However in front of and on the other side of the hotel are construction zones, a tattoo parlor and other unseemly businesses. We had been told to request a high floor because of the "club scene" surrounding the hotel. 6th floor was not high enough because we were awakened all during the night by the revelry next door and the Parking Lot lights that the curtains couldn't shut out. If you are a sound sleeper this won't bother you. If not, stay somewhere else.
Stayed here for business and was very pleased with all aspects of the hotel. Customer Service was exceptional from check in with Steve to valet service with Casey and Garrett!! The room had an incredible view and restaurants in walking distance.
