Good value for the money. We normally stay here when in the area. Recommend checking this hotel out for yourselves. We will use this property again. The hotel staff is always so friendly and nice - a delight.
We booked this for Thanksgiving with family. Upon our arrival, we were shown a notice that the hotel had decided to give the housekeeping staff Thanksgiving off, and that we would have no service! If we needed towels, etc., for the next day, we could come to the desk and they would "try to accommodate us." There was no advance notice. We had no bedmaking, no trash removal, etc. during our stay. People complained to us that they were unable to use the gym until after Thanksgiving, it was locked. The hotel was very noisy; the walls are quite thin, and the furniture (although new and clean), bangs whenever a door or drawer is closed. Barking dogs were allowed to continue unaddressed, and children ran screaming up and down the hall of our floor. We were charged the same amount for this room as if we had had services. When my husband attempted to address this at checkout, he was told that the manager would not be available until Monday, and that nothing could be done at the time. I addressed this repeatedly on Twitter to both Hilton Hotels and Hilton Honours--no response to any tweets, despite others being answered. This was not the only Hilton property to have done this on the holiday. I advise potential customers to check the messages about Hilton properties and chains over the holiday; there were many "problems." If I wanted to do my own housekeeping, I would stay at a hostel. Housekeeping is a basic service of a hotel, not a luxury. I suspect this is a "trial balloon," to decrease services incrementally, as the airlines did, and to see if people are willing to pay the same for less service. NOT THIS FAMILY and our businesses. We are taking our business to Marriott or Hyatt after this. We travel frequently, and this was an awful experience. Or perhaps, these "days off" were work stoppages, and Hilton is trying to cover that by calling them planned? Regardless, you don't pay for a decent hotel to find you must do the same housework you do at home. Addendum: I worked in EMS all my life. I have worked holidays many times, and would love to see everyone be able to stay home. This is unrealistic, the same as it was in my job.
The hotel was nice. The rooms were a little dusty. The stay was ok. There weren’t employees there who spoke English and could understand what you were asking. Nice area where hotel was located. Overall I would give this hotel an 3.
This hotel did not have the comfortable bed (king) that the Hampton Inns are famous for. It felt like a foam mattress and was so hard I woke up in pain every morning. If there was a sofa in the room I would have slept on that. The rest of the accommodations were excellent - so if you like a very firm mattress, this hotel will probably be good for you.
Because hotel is away from a busy thoroughfare, room was quiet & well appointed. Breakfast was as expected & selection was ample. Parking was plentiful and discount at local restaurants was a pleasant surprise.
I spent four days in this hotel when I came in for a weekend wedding. It was a typical Hampton Inn free breakfast Internet that sort of thing. The parking in the front is not the best but they have sufficient parking in the back. The two main issues I had was one of my room keys did not work, and there is a stale smell in the hallway and rooms. Sadly this is not the only time I have had this experience at in Hampton and property. However the staff is very friendly and this is a great location because there is a lot within a five minute driving distance.
I was very disappointed with my stay at this location. First staff refused to accept cash for the payment of the room, then notified us that the suites were all by the elevator. That was an understatement. The bedroom abutted the elevator wall and there was way too much noise to get any sleep. The check-in person seemed to be clueless as to resolve issues.
Hilton chain hotels never disappoint. I originally booked the Fairfield Inn by Marriott right around the corner. When I arrived, my room was sold. I booked 2 rooms there and only 1 was available. I cancelled and went to the Hampton Inn. The gentleman welcomed us and was very accommodating considering the he'll we just went through.
The free breakfast is a nice touch and the foyer is kept clean and tidy by friendly staff The room itself was in need of a refresh - peeling paint in bathroom and shower stall cracked, but it was serviceable. The walls are thin and I could hear other guests in the shower. I was "blessed" with a connector door to the next room (funny how that can never be accommodated when I travel with my kids using hhonors points, but that's another story...) which meant I could hear my neighbor's phone conversation, TV and bathroom. Thankfully I came equipped with headphones. All in all an adequate place for a rest, nothing more.
Came to DC / Baltimore area for a short 5 day vacation. Wanted to visit both Baltimore and DC. So we didn’t have to move, we picked a place in the middle. Great choice, it was located about 17 miles from both Cities. Compared to the prices of hotels in DC and Baltimore this place was very very reasonably priced. We were glad we picked location and Hampton Inn. It was just like most Hampton Inns, great staff, clean and a great breakfast if you are on the go. Price of the breakfast was included. The hotel was near some very good places to eat, plus they were close to some large open air/strip malls. If you needed anything there was a retailer near by to purchase it. If you are need a place 17 miles from Baltimore or DC this will fit the bill.
