I recently stayed at this property, which was advertised as a boutique hotel. Unfortunately, my experience did not match the expectations set online. Instead of being placed in the boutique section, I was put in a separate motel-style building located next to the actual hotel. This was not clearly communicated beforehand, and the difference in quality was noticeable. The room itself was disappointing, but the biggest issue was the noise. Throughout the night there were loud sounds that made it extremely difficult to sleep. For a stay that was supposed to feel upscale and relaxing, this was a major letdown. Overall, I left feeling misled by the advertising and dissatisfied with the comfort of the stay. I hope the property improves transparency about room locations and addresses the noise issues for future guests.

The propery would have been very grand in its day but has aged and could do with a spruce up. No staff around when we initially arrrived. Plug was jammed in the bathroom sink and drain then appeared to be blocked. Fridge froze contents. No one around when j checked out to advise of any issues.

I ordered a room for 3 people as we had a death in the family and needed a place to stay 2 beds were asked for and paid for we were coming from Wellington I paid over 300 Dollars When we arrived we were given a room with 1 bed for 3 people after 9 hours of travel all we wanted was 5 mins of chill time after finally sorting the right room we got a room with no loo paper no milk and ants everywhere we had to leave to get to our family and got back late and left early again in the morning after the service we got back to the room and finally had some time to chill to find ants all though the room that was it we decided we're were going home even though I paid for 3 people for 2 nights we only stayed 1 the service was 0 the lady did not care we put out our dirty towels not given any fresh ones I would never stay again you would think for the amount of money I paid it would of had better standards the there building report run out in 2024 cones all over the place broken hand rails and steps not good enough I say

I fully prepaid for my room. I arrived to find that my room had been double booked and I was unable to stay. Left high and dry scratching around for a refund with nowhere else to stay as the city was fully booked for concert goers

Room was smaller than I thought it would be, basic but clean and bed was comfy the curtains were very thin Heater in room was needed as no carpet (varnished floorboards, trendy but cold on feet) Shared bathroom was cold and although the window glass is frosted, felt a little exposed when showering.

I liked the convenient location and the easy on site parking. Staff friendly and helpful. The room heating was inadequate with a plug-in free standing heater not enough to provide a comfortable room temperature. No hairdryer was disapointing.

Perfect for a solo trip

Clean room and nice location. Lower end of boutique, not as nice as it looked in photos but it was all good for a solo trip, I’d book something else if I was going with friends or a partner.

Nice rooms - kind of colonial era style. I imagine it may get cold in the winter but I had no issues with the oil heater and electric blankets keeping me toasty. Lots of lovely eateries nearby! The internet was the only let-down... Slow enough that you can't even stream movies.

This hotel is an old Victorian style house with many rooms. We stayed there for 3 weeks while visiting family in Auckland, and it was an absolute pleasure. Our room was clean and tidy, everything worked as it should, and it was very comfortable. The owner, Kate is a lovely lady and welcomed us upon our arrival. She let us chose the room we wanted to stay in, and was very friendly. The area is beautiful, and has many restaurants, bakeries and cafes within easy walking distance. One of the best things is free parking on the property. If you know Auckland well, you'll know that parking everywhere is expensive, even on the street and while shopping. This was a great positive for us. We will definitely stay here again the next time we visit Auckland.
