My partner, now fiancee arranged for us to stay here and we travel alot so it was going to be a big ask to get it right. We got engaged the day we checked in and every staff member seemed to know and were just wonderful. The room was great, (corner facing the water), comfortable bed and bathroom huge...just the way we like it. Awesome stay and will definitely return soon.

This is a great hotel - it is perfectly located within walking distance to great shopping and restaurants and the lovely paths along the harbor. The rooms are comfortable and well sized and have the great Sofitel beds. If you are a frequent user of electronics requiring USB charging ports be warned that they have not upgraded the rooms to account for this style of traveler so there are no built in charging outlets and you will need to use the limited wall outlets (which are hidden below the nightstands). It was the sole flaw in our stay - and although minor, worth mentioning because this is an opportunity for the hotel to step it up. The staff are fantastic - they make the property truly excellent. The GM runs a tight ship and was observed in the lobby checking up on things (and helping carry bags and direct guests). The concierge team in particular was great as was the front desk. Breakfast, which we received as a complimentary bonus upon check-in, was delicious and had tons of options. We would definitely stay here again if in Auckland and would readily recommend it to friends and family.

Ending a trip to Auckland to visit family, we wanted to stay in comfort and style. The Sofitel Viaduct did not dissappoint! The Hotel is gorgeous with a great atmosphere, staff were exceptionally helpful and friendly and the suite was divine. Breakfast was lovely and check out a breeze. Highly recommend.

From the moment we arrived we were treated to VIP services all the way. Israel Suarez Guido was outstanding and his team played there part to the highest level. This was a simple birthday getaway for my fiancees birthday and the team at Sofitel just went above and beyond. The welcome champagne, the little Happy Birthday cake on arrival were wonderful and treated the same over dinner in Lava. Highly recommend Lava restaurant could not fault the food or service for dinner and breakfast. What really topped of the weekend was an extra treat which Israel very promptly arranged, was a framed photo from model shoot my fiancee had done at the hotel 4 years ago. This really was a beautiful and thoughtful gift. Thank you again Israel! We were so impressed we have put a halt on our wedding plans to rethink, as we believe the team at the Sofitel would deliver a wonderful day based on this incredible stay.

We stayed there four nights and the fifth day, we boarded our ship, Oceania Regatta for 24 days cruising NZ, Australia and Bali. The hotel is beautiful and situated right near the business and restaurant district. We walked so many places. Arranged for a hop on and hop off tour to pick us up at the hotel and spent a day at the Auckland Zoo. Weather was warm and sometimes misty but it felt so good. People would stop us when they saw us looking at a map to help us out. So friendly and welcoming. Customs did not ask us about, do you have any drugs? or electronics? They wanted to know if we had any seeds and or uneaten food, like sandwiches. Their landscapes are amazing. Muliti-cultural, their people are unified. Love of country and all people. What a wonderful place New Zealand is to visit.

Great location ,walking viewing boats, E biking along the water front , Fantastic food in the Lava restaurant . Full spa ,Big spa pool, steam& sauna rooms and swimming pool. large rooms lovely beds. Top service.

Sofitel is a lovely chain and this one is no different. Excellent location, walking distance from the CBD and near the outstanding restaurants and bars closer to the Harbour. Do not buy anything other than the el cheapo room. Not sure why I expected the "Romance Package" would be anything more than a reason for a fool (me) to be more readily parted with my hard-earned money, but it was the first trip that my wife and I had made since having a child and I decided to throw caution to the wind. While a basic room was roughly NZD350, I paid NZD550 on the promise of - at least - a bottle of Champagne and a "special gift". Not sure what the gift was supposed to be, or if anyone has actually got it. Likewise the Champagne which didn't arrive, but when prompted turned out to be a $25 NZ Brut (surely sacrilege for a French-styled hotel). Lovely hotel in a great spot, but no benefit at all in getting anything other than a basic room.

We stayed for 2 nights. Our room overlooked the Viaduct Harbor. The room was large with a large bathroom. There was a Nespresso machine, minibar and sink just inside the door. The bed was very comfortable. The bathroom had a wonderful waterfall shower. There was also a separate tub. The service was top notch. The hotel restaurant was excellent. There was also a small coffee shop on site.

What a lovely place to stay as we arrived in New Zealand for the first time ever! From the front door to the Spa staff and the maintenance person who helped me "break in" to my own carry on lock, they were wonderful. (I had gotten the lock jammed and could not even begin to unpack). Excellent service and luxury through out our stay. Thank you!

Recommended if you are visiting Auckland and close to great restaurants in the Viaduct area. Surrounded by some wonderful NZ architecture . For a sunny morning breakfast recommend the cafe on the terrace
