Post-cruise stay close to Port, walking to restaurants and Sky Tower and port. Clean and comfy , Don't forget to check out the best coffee shop in the world in their Lobby great service great muffins great coffee

The best part of this hotel is its central downtown location, making it easy to walk to everything we wanted to do. The room itself was clean and comfortable. And the staff was very accommodating. I'd be happy to stay here again.

The hotel really did not meet my expectations I will not stay there again but it was clean and it was OK but not a good value for the money

The hotel was perfect for what we needed. Within walking distance to everything, clean, and friendly. Not luxurious, but perfect for just a place to stay while exploring the city!

The hotel has a very good location in Auckland, quite close to the mayor streets in downtown (but far from the airport, you have to take a taxi or shuttle). The rooms are spacious and clean and have a kitchenette. For tourists, it is a good choice in Auckland. The staff is very friendly and helpful. I think there’s a very good relation between what you pay and what you get.

We had a double room with king size bed, the room was specious and clean and had two heaters. The hotel is about 5 minutes walk from Queens street and 25 minutes walk from Ponsonby (bars and restaurants).

We had flown for 20 hours and booked this hotel for once we finally arrived. Perfect sized room with nice, clean bathroom. Two space heaters to heat the room got it decently warm. We were confused about turning on the lights because you have to insert your room key into a slot by the door. Parking was extra, but worth it as public parking seemed to be expensive in the area. Greatblication as it is walkable to anywhere downtown. We went to Depot for dinner, which was great! And we headed to Federal and Wolfe for breakfast... also great!

A block away from Aukland SkyTower and a good size room with kitchenette... Kitchenette came in handy and there's an Asian Market right next door of need to stock quickly...Walking distance and centrally located for a night on the town... It was quiet and clean. They have just a small garage which is first come first serve...the service trucks also use the same garage entrance so you might get stuck behind a linen delivery service and other deliveries if you have to leave during their early morning delivery times... and you have to give them your car keys at the front desk.

This hotel was very accommodating. The staff were helpful when needed. They have bicycles that are available for guests to use. The room was excellent. It had a kitchenette with pots, dishes and other supplies. The location of the hotel was very central in downtown Auckland, and close to a lot of amenities.

Walking distance to Auckland City Tower (5 minutes). room is clean. the restaurant food is not good. the value is good if you want to save some bucks.

The hotel staff were more than accommodating in answering our questions, assisting with transportation, and any other help we needed.

The Auckland City Hotel Hobson was a great place to stay! It is two blocks from the Sky Tower (which you could see from the top floor with the full moon right next to it!) and within a short walking distance to the harbor. The staff was knowledgeable and helpful. The hotel Malaysian restaurant had good food, great service, and accommodated us, even though we arrived just as they were ready to close for the evening. Housekeeping was a little less than we expected, as they left only two towels when there were three of us booked in the room, and they left trash sitting around once. We were also disappointed in the internet availability: you got a password every day which gave you one hour of free internet, and then you had to pay. I don't think that was clear in the description of the hotel when we made our selection. HOWEVER, location, location, location and great staff made it a wonderful stay and good value for our money! Even after we checked out, they stored our luggage and made arrangements for a cab to get us to the airport for our evening flight so we could enjoy our last day in this wonderful city!

Nice hotel--clean, very quiet and comfortable. Best part was friendly and helpful staff. Location could have been better but would stay there again.

The hotel is a regular anycity in the world hotel.if you need a clean, nice sized room at a good price, this it. There is nothing attractive about it but it is located near the skycity where a lot of night actions:casino, restaurants ect...

I got a great bargain staying at Auckland City Hotel Hobson. For a 3-star price I got a 4-star experience. Expectable amenities, clean room, and right in the heart of where you want to be. Staff was also helpful and friendly. My only real complaint was the steep price of internet, which I had thought would be included in the hotel price. Other than that I would recommend it to someone wanting to stay in the center of Auckland without paying an arm and a leg.

We had a nice three night stay. It is located just right to see and do a lot in downtown Auckland on foot.

ach apparently has been recently renovated. everything looks new. it is in the central business district so it is close to many of the auckland tourist sites, only two blocks from the sky tower. if i could change anything, i'd move it a little closer to the waterfront for quicker access to various transportation nodes...and make most outings uphill going out, and downhill on the return. but what really made the hotel so good, was something more remarkable these days. the staff was simply fantastic. from check-in to check-out, they took our welfare and comfort as their personal mission to ensure. highly recommended.

I found this hotel to be a comfortable, quiet oasis from the city center. It is ideally located, close to the major attractions of Auckland. The room and facilities are first class and the staff is helpful and professional. See my more detailed review in Trip Advisor.

The hotel is in a good location in a decent neighborhood, really easy to get to and from. You can walk to Britomart transport station in 15-20 minutes, and there are lots of restaurants and shops around. The rooms aren't anything exciting, but pleasant and clean. They have limited free wifi in the lobby, and you can pay to have broadband in the room. My biggest caution would be the restaurant--it looks (and smells) better than it is--the flavor of the malaysian dish I had was great, but the texture was weird, the meat rather fatty, and the rice overcooked. The hotel also seems to be very popular with groups (particularly in their early 20's) so occasionally the lobby is completely overrun.

This was the honeymoon trip we will never forget. the hotel was dirty and hostel type sparse. I got a rash from the bedding and when I asked to have sheets changed they refused. Washed our own. We checked out and got a much nicer hotel across the street. The trip was a wedding present and we were embarrassed to tell the gift giver about our experience.
