what a great hotel. I didn't expect much from a studio room but it was a great size, had 2 comfortable chairs, fridge, toaster, hobs. the bathroom had a full bath and there was a washing machine and drier. Great linen and towels. There is even a small balcony which makes the room seem much larger. A really nice touch is that movies are free. Front desk staff are lovely and made checking in a breeze. Very close to great shops and restaurants,
Our trip to NZ has been a mix of travelling and attending a "family" wedding. As a consequence we were in Auckland three times and chose to stay at the Quest Newmarket on each of these occasions. The location is perfect, just enough outside the Auckland CBD to have its own character but close enough to walk or get the train to the main sights etc. The room was a studio and perfectly fitted our needs with washing machine and dryer in the bathroom, kitchenette, and a large bedroom / sitting area. You need to use the aircon as the hotel seems to be naturally warm and we found without adjusting the aircon sleeping became a little difficult. The staff were all incredibly welcoming and helpful, even storing the bulk of our luggage for a week whilst we did a trip to South Island. We're now waiting for our taxi to the airport for our return to UK and again we're at the Quest. We're not sure if we'll be visiting NZ again but if we do and we need to be in Auckland then this will be the first place on our list
We were happy with this serviced apartment. The 2BR unit we stayed in for 2 nights was just right for our family of 5. There is a kitchenette and a decent sized bathroom with washing machine and dryer. Quest has its own car parking facility at $20 a night on a first-come first served basis. If it's full, there is carpark across the street. There are several restaurants and shops in the area although we found no nearby convenience stores. There is an Asian store that is open until 7pm. If you need to shop for supplies late at night, the nearest supermarkets are 8-10 minutes away by car. Finally, I must have missed this in the disclosure, the front desk closes at 6PM. if you arrive late for your check in, you will need to call a number to get in to the building.
The location at the end of Newmarket is fantastic. Outside the hotel are a huge selection of restaurants. Short walk to the War Museum (uphill), shopping is great with plenty of shops to choose from. Mall at the far end of the shops. Car parking available at $20 per night, but very safe parking, gated etc Wifi was good Room itself was very good. Small balcony, enough to stand on. Bed was comfortable, small kitchen. Overall the room was not huge but certainly big enough for the 3 nights we were there. Good sized bathroom with washing machine and dryer, soap powder supplied. Shower could have had a little bit more pressure, and the shower was over a bath which was nice. Good sized tv in the lounge along with a comfortable lounge suit. Small desk which was good to work on. Everything was very clean. I would definatly stay here again
This service apartment has spacious room and a hall. Kitchen is well equipped for a short stay. This has no restaurants, plenty of restaurants around this hotel which serve all kinds of food. Not very far from city centre like Sky tower. In all good for staying.
The apartment is well equipped and the bed is large and comfortable. We had some noise from above which are private apartments (We were told) but generally it was quite quiet. The only draw back found was that the reception staff lacked knowledge of local issues and some could be a bit off hand. Having to be out of your room at 10am is a bind especially if you have a late flight. reception will hold your luggage in secure conditions but there is no room to rest in accept the small reception area.
Up for a weekend wedding and needed some space. Genuine 1 bedroom apartment with full bathroom. Plenty of light and good sound insulation. Yes there are occasional city noises but I hear more at home. Friendly staff and easy access. Car parking available and plenty (really lots) of food options around. Supermarket and stores around if needed. Will use quest again.
This hotel makes a great base in Auckland for both short-term and longer-term stays. The rooms are great. The staff are great. Newmarket is a cute, little retail area, bordering the Auckland Domain (a lovely expanse of green space) and walk-able to the other downtown neighbourhoods. I would definitely stay here again.
Nice hotel . Well equiped apartment and in a good location with restaurants and shops nearby. Also handy to bus and train station. Safe and quiet. Our room was very nice. Roomy and well equiped. Washing machine and dryer would be handy for many travellers. The shower over the bath had a good hand grip and non slip mat provided.
We stayed at the Quest Newmarket twice this trip. When we arrived we stayed for 2 nights in a Studio apartment facing the back of the building (511) and when we returned to Auckland we stayed in a one bedroom apartment (407) facing the front of the building for 4 nights. The studio room was great with a very comfortable bed, separate washing machine and dryer in the bathroom which was very handy. A view over the train line but with no other building intruding/looking into our room. A small kitchenette with plenty of cooking utensils, good AC and no noise from adjacent rooms.Trains were spasmodic and we were not bothered by their noise at all. Very happy with the room. On our return we stayed in 407 facing onto the street and restaurant precinct and apart from the early morning garbage collection we were not bothered by any noise. We paid for a car space under the building which was great. This apartment was roomier than the studio, had a very comfortable bed, shower over the bath, good AC, well equipped kitchenette and 2 TVs- one in lounge room and one in bedroom. Strange TV system but I soon learned how to operate it. Again a great room and would opt for a 1 bedroom if we return. Each room we stayed in was spotlessly clean. I would suggest asking for floors 4 or 5 as they have a reasonable view, remembering that the ground floor is numbered Floor 2. This establishment is perfectly located in Newmarket. One train stop from Auckland City Centre (one way ticket $3.50) and a 2 minute walk to a bus stop which takes 10 minutes to City Centre and costs the same. Regular services (every 10-15 minutes) run to and from the city. The Quest is surrounded by restaurants and shops and a large supermarket is 3 blocks away. We really liked staying here and the staff were excellent. Nothing was too much trouble and they went out of their way to ensure our stay was an enjoyable one. Reasonably priced, attentive staff, spotlessly clean and top location make this a wonderful place to stay when visiting Auckland. Highly recommended!
