ibis Budget Auckland Central

The room is so small that two normal suitcases have no place to be opened. . The room has a kitchenette but no table and no chairs to seat and eat some meal. What for the kitchenette if you cannot seat nowhere. The room is very uncompfortable. The badroom gets totally wet, full of wáter, when you take a shower. I do not understand how this hotel can belong to the international Accor chain and be named Ibis. Extremelly unpleaset stay at this hotel.

If you have big baggages, the room may become a bit cramped. Just a matter of getting organized - my husband and I had 2 big ones and 2 carry-ons but we managed very well. Ibis Budget is so conveniently located that it seemed that everything was within walking distance. Our room was frequently cleaned and toiletries replenished sufficiently. Good restaurants, shopping havens, anything that a tourist would need is within walking distance. Staying here was a big factor in making our Auckland stay very enjoyable! The welcoming smiles of the staff are a big plus.

The rooms are very small and seem unclean. But the location is great.

Doesn't get any more downtown than this - easy access to shops, restaurants, ferry, sky tower, museums. Definitely would stay there again.

The room was very small about the size of a walk-in closet. No hooks or closet to hang clothes. Had oven that didn't work. Staff was extremely helpful.

that is not terrible. First, be sure to ask them about parking as this could be a problem and you could end up paying +$20/day. The room was okay, TV was tiny, but everything was as expected for that amount of $. Will be a bit noisy if you are on the lower levels, but they give you FREE ear plugs. The location is decent - close to shopping and restaurants on main shopping street, and not too far a walk from the harbor. I would make sure to factor in parking costs when shopping hotels in Auckland CBD.

This hotel is on a steep hill on a street leading up from Queen St. The bus from the airport dropped us off where we had to pull our bags up that hill. We were both quite exhausted by the time we got there. Though the staff was friendly and helpful, the room (17-04) was the worst of eight stays we had in New Zealand. There was very little room to set any thing down, no closet, only two tiny drawers, and the bathroom is one of those kind where the shower water goes all over the floor, resulting in your being forced to either mop it up or stand on a wet floor while trying to do your sink business.

I would feel this was an acceptable hotel in India but not in New Zealand. Rooms smelled, so-so for clean-only 1 elevator worked with 18 floors !! Rooms were tiny, only 1 pay phone you could use to call out -or come and use the front desk phone (room phones to receive calls only) . No one was in charge and to the staff it was oh well. On check out day got a call at 10 AM are you out yet- my res. stated 11 AM- oh they must be incorrect- we'll look into it !?

1. When I arrive, they gave me the key: the window in the room was broken, it was freezing in the room, so I had to ask them to give me another room, they did, but that room had no heater (these electric heaters are popular in New Zealand, and they have them in all the hotels). Since I had the keys to both rooms (in order to transfer my luggage), I took the heater from the first room and transferred it to the second room. 2. The rooms are so small, that even in Tokyo you get a bigger one. 3. They don't clean the room, unless you go to the reception and complain. 4. They don't even have a chair in the room. 5. The TV is so small, and the poicture is so bad. you cannot see it. 6. The bathroom is terrible. The shower does not have a separated space, water is flowing out to the floor, but the floor does not have the necessary slope to flow out into the kanalization tube, it stays in the bathroom all day, because, despite their promise they don't clean the bathroom all days. 7. Wi-Fi: $6 for half-an-hour! Go out to the neighboring 7-11, there it is $3 for one hour.

very small, but adequate. Had great views of the city. The elevator took forever each time you wanted to use it.

in terms of value and low cost, it really doesn't get much better. plus, they have cheaper internet options compared to other hotels that try to gouge you.

was only in auckland for 2 nights. hotel was small, seemed like they added in a whole bunch of amenities to the room despite not having the space. the desk and tv were hard to use b/c of the lack of space. shower was nice though, i just opened up the curtain and used the whole bathroom as a shower, amazing, made to hotel worth it. no wireless internet in the rooms, expensive on the ground floor only. wired internet in the rooms like 12 or 15 bucks for 24 hours that is only counted when you logon. tried to do laundry there, expensive and the drier sucks. had to run it 3 times.
