Great spot, great location, hotel is really good and I think recently renovated. If you want to be able to walk everywhere in Auckland CBD it is perfect. I worked during the days and my partner shops and wonders around the city. Perfect location for this

We liked the service which was welcoming and friendly with efficient check in and check out. The rooms were a little small but very comfortable. The breakfast was fantastic! The things that detracted, were the noise from the street. Room tip; ask for a room on the seaward side of the building rather than the Customs Street side. Also the bar seemed to have run out of a number of wines on the menu. This was frustrating given the restaurant was fine dining.

After being stranded in Auckland Airport for more than 12 hours, our overnight stay at the Grand Mercure was more than welcome. After never having stayed in this hotel we didn't know what to expect. We were not disappointed. From being met at the kerb by a staff member we were welcomed like long lost family. All reception staff were wonderful, and check in was seamless. It made no difference to them that our bill was being paid by Air NZ. Our room was wonderful, everything we could have wanted and more. The attention to detail in the toiletries was great, toothpaste and brush, comb, shaving kit, manicure kit, shower cap and more along with the usual shampoos and conditioners. The restaurant was top notch with night views over the harbour. Again, nothing was too much trouble for the staff which made our harrowing day much more bearable. Our very early check out at 5.15am was not problem for reception staff either. All in all, a fabulous nights stay, that we will definitely repeat under better circumstances. Still, had the weather not been atrocious we wouldn't have had the opportunity to stay at such a great property. Thank you Grand Mercure. You made a couple weary travellers very comfortable and happy. I would highly recommend this hotel.

There were 4 of us - 2 adults and 2 kids. We had 2 double beds which I were comfortable and fluffy. A family friendly environment with a hint of luxury. The room was able to fit all of our luggage. There was a window seat where we looked out into the harbour and watched the ferries. All the staff were a delight and very pleasant. We had dinner and breakfast on level 13 - fantastic views and the food was superb. great location to the middle of the city - easy access to shops and many patisseries.

Recently returned from 2 seperate stays at the Grand Mercure with a group of friends and couldn't have asked for more. The hotel is perfectly located for access to the city and its many attractions and equally the marina and all of the restaurant and bars on offer. The hotel itself offers a comfortable bar with fantastic views of the city and harbour from the 13th floor with a new coffee shop / bar opened on the ground floor, serving great coffees and selection of beers & cocktails - can definitely recommend the Mimosas and rum cocktails and I hear there's a new Sambuca omelette cocktail hitting the menu soon. A good breakfast on offer, fairly priced with the prepaid option via reception - if I had one criticism of the stay it would be that as a guest, getting a different breakfast price via reception than that on offer directly via the restaurant is a bit of a hassle. The rooms and public areas are of a great spec as you'd expect from a hotel of this standard, but where this hotel really sets itself apart is in its staff. From Rebecca and the rest of the management team, the reception staff and particularly Natasha, Nicole and Mike at the Custome Lane coffee shop, we were given a fantastic welcome and really made to feel at home - these guys are a real asset to the hotel and added a lot to our stay. Thanks for a great stay, would love to be back there right now!

Had a suit room. However it did not have a working station.Had to request for table and chair to work. The room was like new as just re-opened after complete face lift.Right next to Queen's Street.(Main road with all brands/international food chains.) However the bathroom was small and is next to living area not in main bedroom. Service fees are required using visa/Mastercard/AE

The Mercure is now Grand having received a makeover. It was a perfect location for the Americas' Cup Parade. Yes the Kiwis' have brought that beautiful cup home. We were in town for a couple of days so splurged on a Junior Suite which was nice to be able to relax a bit more and the new decor was lovely. The Vue dining room has lovely views and the meals were really good. Note to World Travelers pay your bill with cash and you will save a lot of money as they do charge a service fee for credit cards. Not a big deal if you know it in advance as there are ATM machines up and down Customs and Queen Street.

Auckland is a very expensive city to stay in. The Grand Mercure is rather hidden and not obvious. The rooms are fine albeit small bathroom is modern and ok. The breakfast is a high point and good value for money. No chance to sample the restaurant. Coffee shop in foyer serves good coffee. Overall good hotel for an overpriced city

Stayed here the night of the final Lions All Black test. Perfect location with Britomart, shopping and restaurants on your doorstep. The staff were friendly and extremely helpful. Valet parking was a perfect option for us

Been a few times, good modern, clean hotel will all amenities. Rooms are spacious with big bed and in most cases a bath which my wife loves. They have a pool and gym which we have used a few times. The bar is well located with good service. It is quite close to Aotea Square so you can walk a nearby resultants of shows. It can be a bit pricy and you need to look out for specials, but it still remains one of our favorite places to stay.
