Beautiful hotel, family room was very spacious and the kids loved the bunk beds and bath in the bedroom. Breakfast was brilliant, loads of choice and plenty options for the kiddos to choose from. Staff were very attentive and great with kids. Slightly out of the centre of Amsterdam but easy access via metro and train right round the corner.

The rooms are nice, clean and very roomy, beds are great and confortable. The halfways are clean and so is the breakfastroom. More then enough choyces for breakfast. Reception is on 5th floor, very spacious and easy access to the reception, the employees are accurate and deliver a fast check-in. On the same Floor there is a bar, as on groundlevel bar and small restaurant. Van der Valk Zuid As had their own garage. Easy to enter. I like to sleep here when I have to be in Amsterdam, because it is right off interstate 10 and close to the tram (trolly), and underground, bringing you to the center of Amsterdam in no time.

Our stay was good, the room was nice and spacious, the hotel has wellness space with sauna/steam room. Often quiet in the mornings. Its the first hotel to my surprise.. where the robe and slippers were not already in the room and required a deposit, not ideal when you’ve landed from a flight and want to immediately reset. We had to call the reception on a number of occasions to have our room made which often was not done upon our return from the day out or not to a good standard. We had breakfast at the hotel on one occasion, and personally there was not many options, for that price you can find a very nice cafe nearby.
