February 2017. Fantastic staff, comfortable room. Close enough to what you'd want to see, in Amsterdam, but not in noisy downtown. Take an evening stroll in Oostpark, or through the neighborhood. If you arrive in the AM from the US or Asia, there's a room to store luggage. The hotel also has a FANTASTIC restaurant. At the time of this writing, the hotel is undergoing a renovation that will make an already great hotel even better. Highly recommend the Arena!

The mouse, dust and small room with 1 little trash bin attached in the bathroom, no tissues

This hotel is outside the busy center of Amsterdam but easily reached by the tram. It is on the canal, and is a very interesting old building that has been very strikingly and creatively transformed. The bar is great and you can sit outside by a fire pit. Feels very upscale and a very reasonable price. The staff was wonderful.

The hotel is a renovated orphanage with a lot of history. The building itself and our room had a lot of character and it was fun to explore, albeit a little spooky. The morning breakfast is a pretty good deal, and the on premises night club are a plus. We had two dinners at the hotel. They were both quite good, however I would recommend exploring other restaurants for a more authentic feel.

This hotel was pretty and quaint and the rooms were very clean and comfortable. I highly recommend staying here!

Converted orphanage with lots of character, fun staff, decent food, really nice free breakfast, easy access to the subway and beautiful canal setting. . . i really enjoy staying here while in Amsterdam because it is a quick trip to the old section of the city, but not in a tourist district, so it is quiet.

Everything was great except the wi-fi. It would require us to log back in every 15 minutes if internet connection is idle, which is annoying.

It is a wonderful hotel with beautiful decor. The staff was extremely kind and helpful.

The building archtecture is a sight to behold, close proximity to canals and has the feel of amsterdam with modern comforts. Unique and comfortable. We enjoyed our stay

We enjoyd very much the comfort room the great quite location and the service!!!!

Good hotel, definitely aiming to please the groovy crowd. (Lounge and bar nights, for instance). Quiet location, and not immediately near restaurants and cafes, so one is drawn to facilities in the hotel. (Good coffee though!). Seven minute walk to tram. One complaint: weak Internet signal in my room on first floor. Had to leave room and walk near reception to get reliable signal. Staff were efficient and helpful.

The one is accessible by foot from the central station. Located in quiet place (it is especially valid for noisy and crowded Amsterdam). Two-level apartments look fine. They (as well as another interior) keep imprints of age and weariness, though not too dramatic. So I qualified the hotel as "rather good". Please note that breakfast is not included, so you have to pay additional e10 per person daily. The wotst thing was they took e100 deposit from my card. They promice to transfer this deposit back to my account in approx. 5 working days. It's quite new experience #not too pleasant# for I never have had this problem before. So I'm not sure I'll recommend, I simply give my friends my impression, let they decide

The hotel was beautiful. Our room was spacious, comfortable and stylishly decorated. We only stayed one night at this hotel but wish we would have stayed our entire trip. (we also stayed at some discount hotels, though the price on this one was a bit higher it seemed worth it). One complaint, breakfast for 18 euros seemed very over priced.

Good place, I was pleased on all aspects, even if they are complaing that this text is too short !

This is a nice and clean hotel located close to downtown Amsterdam. It is close to subway thus quite covinient.

Overall I wasn't disappointed at all. My first room I was a little unhappy due to my height and this particular room, though it was very quaint and comfortable it was tough, but after voicing my minor complaint they switched up my room and I actually ended up with an upgrade right away. The AM breakfast is very tasty and has a good variety of foods to appease most palettes, though I would like to add that it is charged to your room, though I don't think the pricing is posted or made clear unless asked, just fair warning, but I felt it was of value. The club was also entertaining, just make sure to talk to the hosts during the day to get on the list. Buy a tram pass from the host and don't forget to tap on and off the tram ;-)

Beautiful hotel, impeccably courteous and professional staff, outstanding room. Ya, it's not in the heart of town, but is convenient to trams or the front desk can get you a cab in about 1 minute (~11 euro to centraal station) Fantastic bed, great shower, decent views of the canal. All in all a very good hotel, it's only drawbacks being the quality of service in the bar (really slow) and the service charge for internet.

Superior staff, wonderful two-story rooms (beds in loft), very clean, very quiet, in a leafy part of town about a 20 minute walk to city center. Overall, a great value. The only drawback is that the hotel is far removed from any other bar, restaurant or breakfast, so you may end up eating and drinking on the premises--the quality of the food and drink is good, but the prices are very high.

This hotel refused to refund the money in the wake of the Iceland volcano eruption. They are the SOLE hotel in the entire region to so refuse. I spoke to both the greedy general manager and his absolutely nasty deputy to sneered and even enjoyed telling me that there was no refund regardless of disaster. Run do not walk away form this place folks- it wikll be nothing but troulbe if any wrinkle should occur in your plans. You'd be better off and treated far better if you pitched a tent alongside the Herengracht!

This hotel was way more interested in being chique than helpful. For having a restaurant on the ground floor it offered a measely room service. Felt like we heard more no's and sorry's than any other place we've been.
