It's okay for business travelers, but for tourists the hotel is not so good. The room was a bit run down, and the bed did not have good dampening. My girlfriend said when I moved in my sleep the bed would rock and wake her up. This didn't happen in the other hotels we stayed at during our vacation.
The room had a canal view, but it was in a remote part of the city and I didn't see any boats on the water. Not worth paying extra for.
Wi-Fi was good and reliable.
The bathroom was clean and spacious. There was a 220V outlet, but it had a cover that made it hard to find at first.
Breakfast was very good. Lots of tasty selections and custom orders were available such as omelets.
The staff was super helpful and everyone spoke English.
The hotel is not near anything interesting. It's a long walk (15 minutes) to a tram, and the area is very residential. Very few shops and restaurants. No nightlife. It makes some sense. The hotel is very big and tall, and there's no way the city would allow it to be built in the historic downtown.
As I mentioned in the beginning, it's a great choice for a business travelers. Easy ride to/from the airport, and it's a Hilton. I often stay at a Hilton on business. However, it's not so good for a tourist that is looking for the Amsterdam experience,
