We stayed over Christmas as we were visiting family in Aberdeen. It's only a short taxi ride from the city centre (so annoying when you read reviews where this surprises people as they dont hide the location!). Staff were wonderful, and ever so cheerful despite having to work over the festive period, so a big thumbs up there. The meals we ate on site were generous portions and very tasty. Literally the only reasons I've given 4* rather than 5* are; not a good selection of tea bags in the room i.e. perhaps a fruit tea option, it was a LONG LONG walk from reception to our room, some areas such as the pool showers and staircases in the halls could do with a little TLC and the coffee at breakfast was not to my taste. Nothing major and I'd definitely stay here again!!
Friendly efficient receptionist on arrival. Buffet dinner beautifully set out with excellent service. Great array of starters. Using food warmer for the main course meant just that , only warm, which was a pity. Coach to and from Stonehaven excellent . Very disappointed on return as package was not as described, no hot drinks. Even more disappointed not to have received a response to this matter , first raised on checkout , then by means of an e mail to the event organiser and by means of a survey! Breakfast was what you would expect from a big hotel , once again use of warming plates meant food was not hot. Might go back although somewhat put off by the lack of interest in the non supply of "hot beverages" after 3 hours outside.
Good modern clan room, excellent breakfast (more than 8 could eat). A little out of town, but taxi has you there in 10 mins. The pool, sauna and steam rooms are excellent and scrupulously clean and the staff are attentive and professional. I’d use this hotel again.
The room was very big and spacious! The bed was also, very large and comfortable! Maybe request a room away from the elevator if you are a light sleeper as you can hear it running up and down all night. The pool and spa area were very nice, although the hot tub turns off every 10 mins for 10 mins to go through a cleaning cycle which was a bit of pain. The location is quite far from the city center about a 10-15 minute drive and there is very limited and expensive parking available in the city center.
Overall very good way to spend Hogmanay with a trip to Stonehaven fireballs event. However, no vegetarian options at buffet dinner for main course or at the stovie supper let it down even though they were told there was a vegetarian in our party months in advance
We we married at the hotel Sun 31st,at 16.00 hrs, all good and attended the Gala Ball in the evening ,made to feel very special by all staff. Entertainment by 5th Avenue, turned out like a reception with 200 well wishers, excellent meal served with great efficiency.
Great if you love queuing for breakfast, and enjoy staff who are unsure where your dinner will be served. If you have a choice pick a different hotel to spend your money. Almost £10 for a glass of wine.
Chef very friendly Staff amazing Rooms spacious clean Pool excellent WiFi good Food could be a little cheaper We stayed as a group of ten 2 boys age 11 and 12 They said they would definitely return lol The whole group enjoyed hotel. The chef is the nicest chef ive ever met always happy chatty to everyone. He deserves a rise in pay or reward
Excellent night food really good company good band was excellent rooms were very good all facilities were excellent would definitely be back either with company or just two of us , might try the swimming pool next time
Great hotel with great pool facilities for a family stay. Staff were friendly and any problems were dealt quickly. Just the food at bar was good but a bit pricey, apart from that we will recommend it.
