Hop on one of the many flights from Shreveport to Orlando, and you’ll leave the bayou behind for a sunny destination filled with theme parks. When you’re ready to start planning, be sure to visit Orbitz., where you can browse and compare some of the most affordable travel rates available.
The Shreveport Regional Airport (5103 Hollywood Avenue, Shreveport) is located less than nine miles southwest of the downtown area with easy access via I-20 or I-220. Six taxi services offer transportation to and from the airport with fares running roughly $17 from either Shreveport or Bossier City. If you take your own car, you can choose to park in the hourly, daily, or quick parking lots for between $8 and $10 per day. If you want to travel in style, you can reserve a limousine with CJ Limo (318-746-5466).
The Orlando International Airport (1 Jeff Fuqua Boulevard, Orlando) is located just twelve miles southeast of downtown Orlando and roughly twenty-three miles east of Disney World in nearby Buena Vista. Since it draws a lot of tourists, you can expect large crowds and long waits during the summer months, when temperatures often exceed 80°F. Winters are mild in the Orlando area, with temperatures ranging between the fifties and the seventies. You may find some of the major attractions at the parks closed for annual maintenance during the winter, except during the holiday season, making spring and fall your best bets to visit if you want to avoid the crowds. Although it is not located in Orlando proper, Disney World is the area’s main attraction. You can also visit SeaWorld, Universal’s Islands of Adventure, Universal Studios, or LEGOLAND in nearby Winter Haven.
Once you visit the Orlando area, your family will want to return again and again. When you use Orbitz.com to make your travel plans, you may save enough money to make an annual trip more affordable. Once you’ve searched the many flights from Shreveport to Orlando and chosen the one that fits your budget and schedule, you can also make reservations for your hotel room and rental car.
