The T.F. Green Memorial State Airport is the largest airport in the state of Rhode Island. It is located roughly 10 miles south of downtown Providence, with easy access via I-95. When you book your flights from Providence on Orbitz.com, you will be able to choose from all of the major airlines that service the airport, as well as browse through any discount fares and sales.
The T.F. Green airport has more than 8,500 on-site parking spaces available. Garage A, the most convenient with its location directly adjacent to the terminals, charges $22 per day. Garage B is just a short walk to the terminals and offers daily rates of $18 per day. As you move further away from the terminals, you will find additional parking in Garage C, with rates of $15 per day. Long-term lot E is not a covered lot, but it does offer free shuttle service to the terminals for the low rate of $11 per day or $55 per week.
The MBTA Commuter Rail offers quick and cost-effective service from South Station in Boston, downtown Providence and several other locations in Massachusetts and Rhode Island directly to the airport. The RIPTA buses also have service from many locations. You can also choose from a variety of shuttles and taxi companies that offer transportation to the airport. Use Orbitz.com to purchase your low-cost air tickets, and you might save enough to warrant splurging on a private car service to get you to the airport on time.
Whether you are looking for a full meal or a grab-and-go snack, you'll find what you need at the airport. You'll be able to choose from eateries such as the Providence Oyster Bar, Starbucks, Johnny Rockets, Wolfgang Puck Express and Federal Tavern. Enjoy your travels, and remember to use Orbitz.com the next time you need to book flights from Providence.
On your next trip to the Pacific Northwest, use Orbitz to find low-cost domestic and international flights to Seattle. The primary airport is the Seattle-Tacoma International Airport, more commonly known as Sea-Tac, located roughly 15 miles south of downtown Seattle. The Boeing Field-King County International Airport is less than 10 miles south of the city, but flights into this airport are generally more limited and a bit more expensive.
You will have several public transportation options once you land in Seattle, including Link Light Rail and King County Metro Transit. There are also public taxis, share-a-ride shuttles and private car services ready to bring you to your final destination. Expect to pay a fare of between $35 and $45 from Sea-Tac into downtown Seattle, and roughly half of that from the Boeing Field airport. Use Orbitz.com to plan your trip, and you will be able to either rent a car or choose a hotel that has free shuttle service to and from the airport.
Seattle has a mild climate, with winter temperatures usually ranging from the mid-30s to the mid-40s and summer temperatures that rarely go above the mid-70s. November and December usually have a fair amount of rainfall, but the rest of the year is fairly dry. Because cool nights occur year round, plan a wardrobe that you can layer to accommodate the fluctuating temperatures.
Visitors to Seattle have no shortage of things to see and do. Some of the most famous landmarks include the Space Needle, the site of the original Starbucks in Pike Place Market and Bill Gates' house on Lake Washington. There are also plenty of parks, museums, theaters, shops and restaurants in and around the city. Enjoy your stay, and the next time you need discount flights to Seattle, be sure to use Orbitz.com.
