Fly from San Antonio to San Diego

If you're ready for a vacation from San Antonio, take a trip to sunny Southern California. When you need to fly from San Antonio to San Diego, it is best to begin the journey by taking the VIA Metropolitan Bus from downtown to the San Antonio International Airport (SAT). It is a 30-minute ride. When approaching San Diego, you will know why it possesses the moniker "America's Finest City." The waterfront and bustling downtown appear right outside the plane windows after about two hours and 20 minutes.

Attractions

There are three areas where most visitors to San Diego tend to congregate. First is the historic Gaslamp District, full of shopping, bars and restaurants. Horton Plaza, a large, multi-level, outdoor mall, is a good place to spend hours. Next, people enjoy getting out to the beaches. You can take the San Diego Transit Bus from downtown, at Broadway Street and First Avenue, to the beaches. Mission Beach, Pacific Beach and La Jolla Shores are the most popular spots. Last, you can take a day trip down to Tijuana, Mexico, which is only a 45-minute ride on the San Diego Trolley Blue Line from downtown. Do carry your passport to get back into the USA.
