The next time you have the urge to travel, hop on one of the many flights from Memphis to Atlanta. You’ll soon leave the home of rock ‘n roll behind to immerse yourself in a city oozing with Southern charm and hospitality. Get started by visiting Orbitz.com, where you’ll be able to compare some of the best prices on airfare, hotel rooms, and rental cars and lock in your reservations quickly and easily.
The Memphis International Airport (2240 Democrat Road, Memphis) is located just twelve miles south of the downtown area and is conveniently accessible via I-240 and I-69. You can hitch a ride on any of several taxi companies that provide service to the airport for roughly $30. The Memphis Area Transit Authority offers public bus service to the airport for $1.75. If you choose to drive, you’ll find plenty of parking. You can choose economy parking for $6 per day, or you can park in the long-term lot across from the terminal building for just $11 per day. Short-term parking is the most convenient but also the most expensive at $21 per day.
Expect to land at the Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport (6000 North Terminal Parkway, Atlanta), located eleven miles south of downtown Atlanta. Winters in Atlanta are usually mild, but temperatures occasionally dip into the mid-30s. You won’t need to pack any snow gear, however, as the city rarely gets any accumulation. Although summer temperatures usually top out in the high 80s, Atlanta has a very humid climate, making the temperatures seem higher than they really are. Clothing that you can layer to accommodate cool nights is best for spring and fall, which are the best times to visit the city. While you’re in Atlanta, make some time to explore Atlanta’s diverse neighborhoods, including Little Five Points, East Atlanta Village, and Cabbagetown. You can also learn about the area at the Atlanta History Center or watch an Atlanta Braves game at Turner Field.
With its vibrant nightlife, friendly locals, and varied activities, Atlanta is a city you will never get tired of exploring. To get started on your southern vacation, simply visit Orbitz.com, where you’ll have access to some of the most affordable rates on flights from Memphis to Atlanta, hotels, and rental cars in one easy-to-use interface.
