London is one of the most visited cities in the world, offering everything from world-class theatrical productions to historic architecture. When you are traveling from Boston to London, Orbitz.com searches fare sales to help you find a low-cost flight that fits your schedule and budget.
One of the oldest cities in the world, Boston is steeped in history. It is also home to a wide range of cultural attractions, from contemporary art galleries to world-class theaters. The Logan International Airport serves Boston and surrounding communities in Massachusetts.
Logan is located on Interstate Highway 90, 4 miles east of Boston's downtown area. Parking is readily available. At $18 per day, the economy lot offers the best bargain. The parking garage is closer to the airport and costs $27 per day. The Metro system also runs to the airport, offering a faster arrival during rush hour traffic. A number of international and domestic airlines fly between Boston and London.
Once you arrive at the airport in Boston, you will find a wide range of dining options. Local favorites include Boston Beer Works and the Harpoon Tap Room.
More than 30 million people visit London each year. The city is known for its rich cultural heritage and wealth of historical sites. Five airports serve London, but flights from the United States usually arrive at either Gatwick or Heathrow.
Transportation options are readily available from both Gatwick and Heathrow. Heathrow is the largest airport in London and handles the bulk of international travelers. It is about 20 miles away from the city center. Gatwick is the second-largest airport, residing about 30 miles outside central London. There are regular train connections from both airports: the Gatwick Express, which takes 30 minutes, and the Heathrow Express, which takes 15 minutes.
National Express also runs coaches from each airport for approximately $10 per person; this is a good option if you cannot manage your luggage easily on your own. From Heathrow, you can also take the London Underground system into the city. Taxis and rental cars are also available from the airport.
London is rainy year-round, and it rarely experiences hot weather. The hottest month is July, when temperatures rarely rise above 70 degrees Fahrenheit. Winter days usually stay around 40 degrees Fahrenheit.
Visitors to London often come to experience the city's many historic sites, from London Bridge to the Tower of London and Buckingham Palace. London is also home to a replica of Shakespeare's Globe Theatre, the towering London Eye and the National Gallery museum.
With a wide availability of flights from Boston to London, you will have no trouble finding an option that works with your budget. At Orbitz.com, you can also search for event tickets and deals on tours around the city.
