Fly from Fresno to Salt Lake City

If you're living in the Central Valley and want to check out a bigger city nestled at the foot of the Wasatch Range, fly from Fresno to Salt Lake City. You can drive yourself to the Fresno Yosemite International Airport (FAT) to board a plane for the quick hour and thirty-five minute flight taking you to Utah.

Attractions

One of the most iconic sites in Salt Lake City is Temple Square, home to a visitor's center and the Salt Lake Temple. While the temple isn't open to the general public, it's a stately building that anyone can appreciate from the outside. On the east side of town, This Is The Place Heritage Park gives visitors an idea of what life was like for settlers in the 1800s. If you want to get some fresh air, stroll through the Red Butte Gardens and Arboretum. Skiers and snowboarders can find eight resorts within an hour of the city, including Deer Valley Resort and Park City Mountain Resort, both of which hosted events during the 2002 Winter Olympics.

Hints and tips

You'll land at Salt Lake City International Airport (SLC), which is right at the intersection of Interstates 80 and 215 and just a few minutes away from Interstate 15 and the center of town. Daytime highs in the summer are around 90 degrees, and in the winter, temperatures are in the upper 30s.
