Albuquerque gets very little rain and it enjoys sunny skies during most of the year, but the temperatures vary quite a bit from season to season. Pack a warm jacket if you plan to travel during the winter months, as temperatures fluctuate between the mid-20s and mid-40s. Lightweight clothing is more appropriate for the warm summer months when temperatures are normally in the high 60s to 90 degrees Fahrenheit. Travel during May and June to take advantage of some of the best Albuquerque weather.
Albuquerque offers plenty of outdoor activities. Enjoy a round of golf on one of the areas fourteen golf courses or spend a day biking through one of the citys many flat trails or the more rugged Petroglyph National Monument or Sandia Peak. One of the citys most popular events is the International Balloon Fiesta each October when the skies are filled with vibrant hot air balloons of all shapes and sizes. For a more urban adventure, take a stroll through Old Town, visit Albuquerques Museum of Art and History, or spend an evening enjoying Nob Hills nightlife or enjoying the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino. If youre looking to keep costs down, consider traveling during the spring. Youll enjoy beautiful weather, avoid the summer crowds, and have access to the lower preseason rates.
