The room smelled like fumigation spray. Later, we found a roach in the tub, which may explain the smell. There was so much ice buildup in the minifridge that we couldn't put much in there. The staff were very friendly and helpful.

Great Service; Average Hotel

We were excited to visit Williamsburg and selected the Westgate Historic Resort due to its location to nearby attractions and decent price. Although the cover image looks grand with a historic building in front of the pool, the rooms themselves (or at least the cottages we stayed in) were average at best. We paid a little extra so we could have two comfortable chairs and a small table. When we arrived we registered at the front desk and Tony was incredibly kind and helpful. Darla gave us some information and was also very pleasant. If you aren’t staying right in the main building you will be driving around what looks like a small neighborhood which is what we did. When we entered our room, it looks basically like an average hotel room. A couple of chairs, two beds, a tv and small fridge. We were hit by a musty type of smell close to the AC unit. Maybe do to the filter? It didn’t ruin our stay by any means but was definitely noticeable. There were a few cobwebs on the ceiling, but the rest of the room seemed decently clean. WiFi worked great, as did the water and other items. We didn’t go in them, but the restaurants on the property looked pretty run down and there were much more inviting places to eat nearby. Mini golf was great on the premises, and the pool was very clean.

This place was so cute. The front desk ladies were extremely nice. Only downfall was that this hotel is big, there is the main hotel, but then they have little places not connected to the hotel. We were in a far back corner. We came on a really hot day, 100+ temp, we chose to go to the cool pool. It was about 70 degrees and was perfect. There was nobody else in the pool besides people in our group. It was perfect!

The stay was Nice. Guest Rooms were VERY spacious and comfortable. Only con is the Bugs especially with it being the summer time. Overall stay was Nice and staff was friendly. Shout out to Tony for the delightful service at Williamsburg Colonial location.
