During our 50 years of marriage my wife and I have visited more B & B's than I can count in the deep South, the far north, to the east coast. The Cedars B&B is the very best! Alex and Laura did everything possible to make our 3 day visit wonderful. We also truly appreciate everything Haley did to make each of the breakfasts so wonderful.
My wife and I decided to take a last minute trip to Williamsburg this past weekend and chose Cedars based on other TripAdvisor reviews...We were not disappointed...We were met at the door by Dee Dee (Head of Housekeeping) and she was such a delightful person...The owner, Alex, also greeted us at the door...He is a very bright, witty and intellectual host who truly enjoys making his customers happy...We stayed in the Patrick Henry room which has ample space, very comfortable and clean...The room comes with a complementary breakfast each morning which was excellent!!!...Not just the usual hotel fare, but Spinach Quiche, Blueberry Oatmeal, Bacon, Scrambled Cheese Eggs, Banana Pancakes and a Parfait...The Cedars location is a short distance from the Williamsburg settlement and within walking distance if you so choose...There is also ample parking if you choose to drive...I would highly recommend staying at the Cedars of Williamsburg if your travels take you to this area...
The B&B was exactly what we were looking for - a quaint, charming place with a friendly owner. The location was excellent, property well maintained, rooms comfortable. Kudos to the chef for breakfast!
Fiancé and I had a wonderful stay in Williamsburg right before Christmas 2016. Cedars B&B was a charming place to stay. The room was nice and the breakfast was delicious. The B&B was in a convenient location across the street from the college and close to Colonial Williamsburg. Alex was very helpful, friendly and gave some great suggestions. Nothing negative to report. :-)
Best breakfast ever! Takes you back to a time when your host was friendly and knowledgeable. Alex was very nice let us in on some tips of things to do for our stay. The room was nice and Dee Dee was fantastic. Everyone was super nice! The breakfast was out of this world.
I was in Williamsburg and Jamestown doing book research. I chose the Cedars because of its location, right across from the College on Jamestown Blvd. Met archaeologists at the Old Hominy Restaurant down the street on Saturday so the location was perfect. Couldn't have asked for a nicer owner, Alex, who chatted with me about my books, and served us a wonderful breakfast. The rooms were beautiful and the beds comfortable. The stairs were a bit steep and had to park in the back and walk to the front during the rain but other than that is was a great getaway. Thankfully we had help with our bags, but if you cannot do the stairs, ask for a downstairs room.
When we arrived we were greeted by the nice innkeeper, and shown our room. The house is beautiful, colonial-style, with a welcoming living area. The breakfast was awesome- besides the eggs benedict, we had the best oatmeal with fresh blueberries we'd ever had. Alex is super hospitable and helpful. We were only staying 1 night, and he circled the most important sites to see that last day, which were right-on. We'll definitely stay here the next time we're in Williamsburg.
Made a ‘last minute’ reservation for a couple of days in Williamsburg and found this B&B, where we booked the last remaining room at the time. It was a truly enjoyable experience, from the cheerful greeting by owner Alex, to the cozy and well-appointed rooms, to the excellent breakfasts. Our suite (Bourtetourt) occupied the top floor of a separate building, a carriage house next to the main house. We loved it – but if you don’t like negotiating comparatively steep stairs, pick another suite. Well maintained property, ample and secure parking, and in easy walking distance to the center. We’ll be back!
We stayed at the Cedars for our wedding night! We loved the service, room, and the amazing breakfast the next morning. The owners were extremely friendly and worked with our wedding day schedule to allow a family member to check in for us since we were unable to do so ourselves. The house is truly beautiful and we plan to return this fall to stay for a full weekend!
Stayed in Martha Washington room, nice and cozy. Arrived in evening and immediately greeted by Alex. Gave a tour of the beautiful home. Well maintained property, enjoyed the gazebo. Breakfast was wonderful, too. Great stay for couples, glad we left our kids behind, so we could enjoy each other in a relaxing atmosphere. I would definitely stay here again! Thanks for sharing your beautiful home and the hospitality!
