Awesome staycation close to home.

Had a 3 day stay here this past weekend. We stayed in the King Bed Suite with the Terrance. Overall had a good day but I would say they are lacking in some general things (that a 5 star resort like the fairmont really shouldn’t be). Pros: 1) Beautiful grounds 2) Huge rooms! 3) Dlbert was very attentive and wonderful to work with! Very patient with my son Cons: 1) One of the servers at the poolside wasn’t the most pleasant to work with. I understand that my 23 month old autistic son can be a bit energetic. She said a lil comment to my son, “if you don’t behave, you will not get any pizza.” I understand it wasn’t completely serious but just keep those kinds of comments to yourself next time please. 2) The towels poolside were consistently empty. This really shouldn’t be the case at a resort like this. Everything should be aplenty. 3) The food service at Amaya was just generally wayyyy too slow. Maybe it’s understaffed? But to wait 40 mins for eggs and bacon to come out this morning for my son is a bit too much. 4) No late night room service (we were craving Some food around 1030PM but nothing was available). 5) Some services we were looking forward to like the equestrian and shuttle to Del Mar were not available. 6) Check in could have been better with more info on the resort. This property is huge. I don’t know if I would come again but maybe once things go back to normal and they are working at full capacity, I might try again? A lot of Potential.

We have been to the Grand Del Mar on two previous occasions (prior to it becoming a Fairmont property) and experienced EXCELLENT SERVICE, AMENITIES AND CLEANLINESS. We were disappointed with the lack of service this time. We sat in the bar twice and the staff was congregating in the back room instead of waiting on guests. Their livelihood includes tips, so we were surprised at their lack of attention. The guest bathroom did not have lotion. The lobby carpet had significant carpet stains. The upholstery on at least one chair in the bar was torn. The valet and front desk staff were great. Thanks for listening.

The front desk, bell desk, concierge and valet service was top notch. We had an exceptional waitress (Becky) who served our large group with an awesome personality. The only area where improvement was needed was food and drink service at the pool bar. We had three people order and we had to end up leaving after an hour's wait for even acknowledgment of the food not coming. We will certainly be back and was a great hotel.

The only complaint we had was there was a $40 per room/ per day resort fee we didn’t know about before hand. If we had know we would have taken advantage of a few of the things that included knowing we’d be paying for them anyhow.

I’ve stayed in many 5 star hotels in the states and internationally but I have to stay the attentive customer service at The Grand Del Mar Fairmont was the best thus far. Thank you for a terrific stay in your beautiful property.

We have traveled the world and stayed at some of the finest hotels. Without a doubt, this hotel is one of the best! Phenomenal service (The best hotel desk person and greeting ever), fantastic grounds to walk, a beautiful golf course, a True 5-star Restaurant (The only 5-Star in the area) and the hotel room was superb.

While my car was parked in valet it was side swiped. I understand accidents happen however, I would expect for the manager on duty Joshua S. to be professional enough to respond to an email. People don't pay 600 dollars a night to be ignored when something like this happens.

The Concierge booked us into an event at the wrong town, we did not discover it until 1/2 hour before the start. One person in our party was hurt at the alternate location.

Excellent stay! This hotel is the best! Everything was great. I love the room , view, service ! My husband and U had a blast staying at this hotel. We will surely be back

With its proximity to the San Diego area, this is a great location- tucked beautifully into the hillside. Tranquil and comfortable.

We loved the beautiful hotel and creature comforts that came with it! Great splurge for a valentine's day weekend!

The resort was very relaxing with great decor and friendly professional staff. We extremely enjoyed our stay and felt very safe and content. Thank-you! Also the winter wonderland and the activities offered/presented were very cool, fun, and unique! By far the best hotel/resort we experienced and stayed in on our trip!
