The history of the building was interesting and the marble walls were unique.. Good central location not far from most of the attractions..
Standing water in the bathtub when I got into the room. Extortionate parking rates.
I love the history of the location.
Dirty nasty room very very small around areas dirty and nasty charging 40 dollars for parking 😡
Very unique hotel with early century architecture. Close to many restaurants and bars in the Gaslamp of San Diego.
The view from the top floor is amazing!!!!
Very clean. Receptionist and vallet personnel were very welcoming.
Everything was perfect. It was better than I expected. Room was very quiet and clean. Smelled fresh when we first walked in. Lobby was very attentive to our needs when we asked for extra toiletries and towels. I will definitely be back when I come to San Diego again. Highly recommend Gaslamp Plaza Suites to everyone who comes to San Diego to visit or vacation.
Great place right in the middle of the Gaslamp District, great stay.
Bed was comfortable.
I like that the property is an old restored building. The property is well maintained. The staff are friendly. And, it is located close to everything in the gas lamp district.
I enjoyed my stay. The staff was amazing and my room was spotless when I entered. The only problem I have with this hotel is the water pressure wasn’t to my liking. Other than that, everything else was fantastic!
really liked the Gaslamp Plaza Suites Hotel in downtown San Diego. The building is described as "historic" which makes sense because it was built in 1913. Even though it is old, it is maintained very well and everything seemed to be super clean & working while we were there for 3 nights in July. We booked through a 3rd party site; but were still upgraded to a mini-suite. The room was spacious; kind of set up like a 2 bedroom apartment with the bed on one side and a desk dividing the room with a couch, and several small tables and chairs on the other side. The flat screeen tv was set up on the dresser so you could watch it from the couch or from the bed. There was also a mini kitchen with a small fridge, microwave, wet bar, and cabinets with enough dishes and silverware for 2 people. The bathroom was a normal size bathroom; however it seemed to take forever for the hot water to come on, and when it did....there were 2 temperatures: scalding or cold. I think normally they have a breakfast on the rooftop; however not during the COVID-19 pandemic. The staff still made sure to tell us we could enjoy the roof on our own because there were spectacular views of the city. It is BYOB and there are plenty of tables, chairs, couches, and trash cans so it's a great place to hang out for a bit. And yes the views were terrific! We went up there and had drinks twice. There is no parking on site; however you can pull up for a few minutes to load/unload luggage.
I loved the retro look. This place has a lot of personality. The staff were very helpful and pleasant. I would definitely return should I be in the area again.
