Although not in the middle of downtown this location was convenient. It was a short walk to both the blue and green line trolley stations and right behind seaport village. It’s family and dog friendly. I recommend. Breakfast however is the same every morning.
The hotel was really nice. Parking was expensive (38$). I understand it’s the average for downtown but it’s still expensive. The room was clean and the staff was friendly. The kids loved the pool and the view was great! If you are hungry, go to the Beach Hut Deli, near the parking entrance. It’s well worth it, cheap and delicious! However, the coffee at the breakfast was horrible and the chairs were not confortable. But nice breakfast place, though.
I stayed at this hotel for 2 weeks while my wife and I both were on work assignments. This hotel looks great. The staff from the front desk to housekeeping were professional, courteous and friendly. The room was very accommodating and clean. My only issue with this hotel was the mattress on the bed. This would have been the perfect stay if the mattress wasn’t so uncomfortable. Even my wife complained about the sleep.. other than that, this hotel is perfect. Good food, good service and good location, but please do something better for sleep comfort.
Stayed at this hotel for 4 nights in May, 2019. The hotel is located in the center of all the action. You can see the Santa Fe station out of the wall-to-sealing window and the port of SanDiego from the other. Was pleasantly surprised to see the Disney cruise-ship parked under the hotel windows. USS Midway and other museums nearby, ferry to Coronado Island within couple of hundred yards, too. The hotel is very clean and has everything you might need: full-size fridge, electric cooktop, dishes, coffeemaker, etc. Free breakfast is a full breakfast! The reception people are very friendly and the stay was very comfortable. There is parking on site, but you have to pay for it. Overall it was one of the best stay!
In town for a conference stayed here. What a great hotel located right on the Bayfront. Rooms were nice and modern, and very friendly staff. Guessing the hotel is perhaps only a few years old - was in great condition.
The location of the hotel was just perfect. 5 minute walk to the bay, 10 minutes to Seaport Village, and 10 minutes to the Gas Lamp Quarter with all its bars and restaurants. It was also just a short 5 minute walk to a San Diego Trolley stop giving easy access to the old town. The hotel staff were very friendly and helpful making us feel welcome and at home. Especially the car valet team. The room was large, spotlessly clean and well presented. The hotel pool and sun terrace was a great place to relax and unwind. The complementary breakfast was lovely. A great selection of hot and cold foods. Although it did get very busy at the weekend. Overall we had a great stay and would definitely stay here again next time we visit San Diego.
This was a great stay. I was treated like a valued guest by all of the staff and really enjoyed the hospitality. I usually stay across the bay in Coronado but I’ll make this another regular choice when I’m in San Diego. Other pluses was the central location to everything I needed easy access too and the plethora of dining options just steps away.
Great place to stay. The property is well kept, and the staff is great. I loved my room. Very clean. Thank you to Chris, the valet for your assistance. The front desk staff was always willing to help, with a smile on their face. Free breakfast is a plus, although it is somewhat limited. However, if I were to return to San Diego, this would probably be my hotel choice.
We arrived at hotel around noon on a Sunday. I had made our 5 night reservation 3 months in advance. When I booked they didn’t have a Queen/Queen available but made a note to move us if one became available. I asked again upon arrival & they apologized that they were sold out & only had a King for us. Since our room wasn’t ready we left our luggage with them in their secure room & went to tour the USS Midway which is a short walk from hotel. They were to call us when room was ready. Before we left I approached what I thought was the concierge desk but quickly found out it was a sales desk for Marriott Vacations. While pleasant, the lady was very aggressive & I had to just walk away from her as she wasn’t taking no for an answer. It was 3:30 when we made it back to hotel. Hadn’t received a call yet but asked at front desk & it was ready. To our surprise we were given a Q/Q with a split view of the bay & city. Best of both worlds. Watched cruise ships come & go, watched planes land in a distance, and could look out over the city. All Around the hotel staff was exemplary. Our housekeeper was kind and kept us well stocked. She took note of what we were using and always replaced with one extra. The room was clean. We all found the beds to be hard! I was surprised there was no recycle can in room - one showed up our last day. The kitchen was perfect. We used it a couple times. Did wish they had more than a large stock pot & a large sauté pan which both barely fit on 2 burner stove to cook with but we made do. Kitchen had full size fridge, drip coffee maker, microwave, beverage cups, plates & utensils for 4, some cooking utensils, salt & pepper, dishwasher, liquid dish detergent & detergent for dish washer. Ample for long stay. The only complaint I have is the placement of bathroom door & the large closet doors which interact negatively with each other. Another consideration is to purchase slightly shorter shower liners. They are quite long and you step on it while in shower which can become a fall hazard. We took advantage of the laundry facility once. I believe there were 5 washers & 6 dryers? $3 each. Worked just fine. Your room card is needed to access elevator, laundry, pool, etc. Roof top pool was great. Adequate. Appreciate the very large pool towels. The surrounding area had many vignettes with outdoor gas fire pits - perfect for a cool evening watching out over the bay. Breakfast is included with stay. Food did not vary much by the day but lots of food & something for everyone. It truly does get busy the last hour they are open, but still manageable as the staff does an outstanding job. There were a couple days we had to leave the hotel before breakfast opened so we grabbed a to-go plate for the next day & put it in fridge. We used Marriott BonVoy points for our stay so I can’t speak to cost of room but seems to fluctuate based on season/business. The hotel was centrally located to the activities we wanted to do. Several dining spots were also close by. The SantaFe train station & the trolley line (20 minutes from Tijuana) are 1 block away. We used Uber to get around for longer distances we didn’t want to walk. If in area again we would consider staying here again.
I am currently staying at the Bayfront Residence Inn. I don't know the area really good so when I had questions about places to eat and things to do in the area I would ask Tyre and Chris which work for Ace Parking. They were always there to help me out and made sure I knew all the options around the area for what I was looking for. I would tell them what kind of food I wanted and they would give me the different options around the area. For places I wanted to go do or see they would let me know everything about the area for what I was looking for. I asked a specific question and they were not familiar with it so they looked it up for me and gave me a lot of different options that I could do. They gave me the background information for what I was looking for. I really appreciated the extra steps they were able to do for me so I could have a great experience in San Diego, California.
