Self-check-in was a little strange, but it you pay attention to their email instructions you'll be fine. The rooms are lovely, especially the one's over the street. The bar/restaurant in the lobby (not affiliated with the hotel) had amazing food, as did most of the shops we visited. Great, walkable part of town.

Out-of-state traveller visiting family in Waukesha for 10 days. I decided to book a room at The Clarke Hotel because it was central to the places I wanted to go in Waukesha. Not only were the people at The Clarke Hotel extremely nice and helpful but the room was absolutely amazing. Located in an historic building, the ceilings are high with excellent lighting and a spacious floorplan. The bathroom was huge and had a walk in shower with seating and multiple showerheads. Heating and cooling is controlled via thermostat. The bar area with a mini-fridge was nice to have alongside a comfortable chair and recliner. The hotel is within walking distance from Riverwalk, several bars and restaurants (including Travieso on the first floor, which I highly recommend), and several historic sites. I had a significantly better experience at The Clarke Hotel than I have had at the usual chain hotels throughout the U.S. Room: Executive Room, 1 King + City View

The rooms are extremely large and elegant, the sort that you see in the movies. Be sure that you are familiar with their check-in process! This is important to know if there is no one at the desk on the SECOND floor. - Check your email for instructions (check junk folder) - You will be given a code to open a lock box, located just outside the front door. - An envelope with your name will have your keys inside. - If you are parking overnight, familiarize yourself about where to park by visiting the city website. (It's not difficult, but it is a pain.) - Check your key envelope for a $10 voucher for The Steaming Cup Cafe, a few doors down. :) I'd happily stay again!

Cozy stay

We have stayed here several times and there has always been a free breakfast free breakfast is indicated on your website, but there was no free breakfast. A little misleading on that or stay was very good. The rooms are big and they have a great view of the city block. We really love staying at the Clark Hotel very unique and cozy.

I would definitely stay again

Our room was wonderful. The beds were comfortable, the bathroom was large and had a beautiful shower. Our night was quiet and the breakfast vouchers were great. Parking is a little confusing and a few blocks away.

The rooms, furniture and bathrooms were spacious and quiet. This was a really nice property. HOWEVER, I was quite disappointed by the "Free Breakfast" option that was a box of donuts on a table. It is misleading to say free breakfast. I do appreciate the $10 meal ticket but it did not make up for a free breakfast for myself and 3 kids. Remote parking as also a little annoying. Having to apply for a city parking permit online. Another added expense that I did not expect. I would have been fine with everything if the description was more transparent I knew this when I was looking for lodging using Expedia.
