The building is beautiful and full of character, especially for those who appreciate historic architecture. The staff was friendly and helpful throughout our stay. However, the property could benefit from additional maintenance. We noticed some broken floor tiles and other signs of wear that detracted from the overall experience. The downtown location was convenient and within walking distance of Iron Horse Grill, which was one of the highlights of our trip. On the downside, there was very little activity in the area during the evening. One weekend night around 10:00 PM, we wanted to visit the hotel bar, but it was already closed. Overall, a pleasant stay with excellent staff and a beautiful historic building, but some maintenance updates and more evening amenities would improve the experience.

I looked at the recent reviews and was incredibly put off. I will be honest. At first, if I had had the option of cancelling, I would have. But I didn't. So I went inside. And this is why I'm giving 4 stars. Because it was nothing like any of the reviews I'd seen. I got out of my car and checked in. Grabbed my bags and handed off my keys to the valet. Now the first room I was put into, the A/C didn't work. But they were very prompt in trying to fix it and when it could be fixed I was moved to another room where the A/C had been checked and was working. The room was clean, there was no smell in the lobby or hallway of pot or other paraphernalia. In order to use the elevator to get to the floors with rooms you must have a room key so that's a bit of safety that I appreciate. There was no noise at night from either the street or hallways. There is a security guard or two who monitors and walks the property constantly. And the valet was always timely in retrieving my vehicle for me. I did not eat here so I can not speak to that. The only reason I give it 4 stars and not 5 is because the only parking available is 1) Valet parking at a fee or 2) Street parking. I simply did not feel it was a good idea to leave my car on the street so I had to pay for parking. I wish I had known that when I booked.

The room they gave us didn’t have a working lock. We requested another room the lock didn’t work either and it smelled like weed. The pool was not working. The walls were in disrepair. We did not end up staying there.

This was the biggest joke of a hotel I’ve ever seen! Not only did the valet driver asked us how the pot was where we came from is , neither the heated pool nor the jacuzzi they offered were in working order. There was NO ICE or any vending machines on any floors. Room service wasn’t available except Thursday through Saturday. Sheets and pillow cases on the beds were dirty , there were hand prints from previous guests on the headboard. The entire hotel reeked of pot. Our scenic view was a parking lot, back of buildings and a full dumpster. Such a disappointing experience especially with the name of HILTON .Within 2 hrs I was on the phone with my booking agent to get a refund and we were also on another phone making reservations else where. Not a safe place at all . I would not recommend this hotel at all for ANY reason.

When I arrived the black out shade in my room was down, completely on the floor. I spoke with 3 different people on 4 different occasions and the issue was never rectified. I enjoy sleeping in when I'm on vacation and was unable to because of this maintenance issue. At the end of my stay there was still no attempt to compensate me for the inconvenience.

The only good thing regarding our stay was security walked us from the parking lot to the hotel’s doors. They gave us a handicapped room ( in which I did not reserve or asked for). The pool was supposedly closed off because the pumps were messed up. The middle elevator got stuck on the 7th floor. No parking space….This was the worse Hilton hotel that I’ve EVER stayed in…. Needless to say, I will not stay at this hotel again.
