They have an advert at the baggage claim area in the airport which does not reflect what the hotel actually is like . It is a dump . Regretted it from the time we saw the parking lot . Upon check in the clerk seemed to either not had any sleep with old clothes or did not care. The lobby leading to the room had a musty moldy smell . The air conditioning in the lobby definitely was off / does not work. The rooms are a total disappointment. Guess that why they are $63 a night. Air conditioner has a broken front and did not work. Sheets were old and stained . Towels were torn . Decor is old as can be . We found dead bugs in several places. Don't waste your time and resources to go to this Hotel hell .
i don't know where to start.they really call this total dump .a hotel.i think it even scare a way the most desperate homeless.they need to close this total dump down for good. i cant find a rating level of score to give them on the map.would that be like minus =======000000000000000000000000000000000. good luck vacationers .
The Regency Hotel and Conference Center, Jackson, MS. PLEASE DO NOT MISTAKE FOR A HYATT REGENCY!! We arrived at the hotel, and were initially impressed by the exterior appearance of the property. Upon entering was greeted by a pleasant young man, dressed pretty much as a homeless person. We had reserved a Handicap Accessible room. When I received keys to the first room issued, and got past the lobby, I noted two things; the hallway was very hot, and there was a pervasive, unidentifiable and mildly unpleasant odor. After three tries, and a call to his manager, who was not on property, the young man got us into a handicap-accessible room, though furniture placement and height were not in compliance. The two prior tries at getting the handicap room, and the hotel's "no refund" policy prompted me to demand the call to the manager, which he made only after I threatened to call the police. The room was borderline clean, and the following discrepancies were found: Air conditioner broken, repaired by me (as there were no maintenance people on site), none of the wall lights worked (also repaired by me), bathroom sink coming off wall, sink faucets loose in sink, shower head broken (missing a piece, but usable), toilet not ADA compliant. Also, the TV was an old box model, and the remote had no back, so when it was set down, the batteries would pop out...very irritating. Breakfast fare included Cheerios, corn flakes, Fruit loops, a box of quite old and stale lemon-Cranberry scones, and hard boiled eggs of unknown age (I could not get the peel off the one I tried, so we dined out). I will say, the hotel was very quiet, as we were one of only three rooms actually occupied. If you're homeless, it's a step up, but otherwise, spend the extra $10 or $20 and get a decent hotel.
Place was desolate. A sign at check-in warned, "if room occupied more than 15 minutes, NO REFUND." Inspect before your 15 minutes is up! Used towels & bedding. Stains & hair everywhere. Odors! Disgusting!
I have to say you get what you pay for. This was a cheap $50 hotel but to find rubbish (tampon wrappers and a tooth brush) in the room bins was off putting. The room was unclean and so dated. I asked for a room with a view over the pool and got a ground floor room overlooking the garbage. I do have to say that the staff were brilliant.
Front desk didn't have our reservation at first, then tried to double charge me. No assistance with our luggage. Then we get to our room and the carpet is ripped and creased throughout the room. We began to unpack and not let the carpet ruin our stay. The neighboring room was smoking so much pot that our 12 week old baby began coughing uncontrollably. We asked for a room change but they were sold out. The final straw that broke the camels back was we went to lay down and the sheets were stained. We lasted all of 20 minutes in this hotel. We are not picky people but with no sense of care from staff we decided to move on. Getting a refund was a joyful experience too. Will never be back.
I stayed there 3 nights in February. They do NOT offer breakfast nor do they have a restaurant anymore. They have a cooler behind the front desk they will sell you "a microwavable sausage biscuit or rice crispy treat."There was food leftovers and half a Taco Bell drink in the refrigerator. . The room had not been cleaned: there was hair on the sheets, smudges on the wall I finally wiped off, Microwave did not work. Light burnt out in the bathroom. TV was from at least the early 90s with very basic channels only. Peeling wallpaper, mold around the AC unit. The ironing board had a huge hole ripped or burnt in it. They did not make my bed 2nd day. Left new towels only and sprayed some deodorizer in the room. Whoever "cleans" the rooms should just be FIRED, followed by the manager who allows this to go on. I know the pool was closed for winter but should it be a dark green murky color? The area was so bad police stayed in the parking lot first 2 nights to keep the area safe for visitors of the event across the street at the fair grounds. This hotel just needs to be cleaned up. Old is one thing, but nasty and dirty is inexcusable. Does the city of Jackson not inspect their hotels???
This was the WORSE hotel that I have ever been in. I changed rooms several times. And they were ALL DIRTY. The elevator had a sign saying to use it manually. Do not book this room. There were dead bugs everywhere. Someone was smoking marijuana in one of the 1st floor rooms. It could be smelled through the entire hotel. The staff was unprofessional. The bathroom was not clean AT ALL.
Hotel is very nice and clean. beds where comfortable and the staff made us feel like we are home, every thing is close to our event the pool was super great and clean. I would recommend this place to any one.
Mold, peeling paint, a filthy toilet and stains galore were the norms at this "Best-Value" described hotel. I stayed only because I had just travel 600 miles and knew I could not be refunded my money. Upon entering, the mismatched decor is almost jarring. Is it a Roman Villa, a hacienda? Tacky signs are taped to the walls telling visitors the rules and added charges. The receptionist had a television blaring and a radio. Various products were for sale behind the counter with handwritten prices. Stained carpets, scuffed and dirty walls led to the rooms. Upon entering the room was a good size and the decor not too bad. But after I began to unpack I noticed the peeling, water stained ceiling. The floor of the shower was so slimy, I had to clean it to keep from falling. The toilet had a sanitized slip implying that it had been cleaned; it may have been cleaned months earlier, but never flushed. All in all this place was so awful, it was comical.
